This hostel was completely fine for staying in Zagreb for a few days. Its location is very good and close to everything. The nearest shop is just around the corner. We spent only the nights there because of our busy days, and it was definitely worth the price. The rooms are spacious enough, even more than we expected. The bathroom has enough toilets and showers. The staff is very kind and willing to help — they kept my laptop for me every day when I was not in the room. Also, there is a possibility to leave your luggage for free in lockers at the reception, which is very convenient if you have some layover time after check-out. The only thing that should be mentioned, and the reason why I am not giving a full 5 stars, is that it was sometimes a bit hard to fall asleep since the walls are not very thick. In general, it was a nice experience and I will probably come again if I visit Zagreb in the future.

I had a wonderful stay here and cannot recommend this hostel enough. From the moment I started planning my trip to Zagreb, the team was incredibly supportive. They answered every single question I had before I even arrived, which made the journey much smoother and less stressful. Once I arrived, the reception team was just as impressive. They were so kind and didn't hesitate to help with my luggage, and their local recommendations for places to visit were spot on. What stood out most was the attitude of the staff—everyone I met was polite, humble, and genuinely happy to help with any query. It’s rare to find a place where you feel this welcome. I would love to stay here again on my next visit!

The best I'd describe this hostel is that you get for what you pay. It's a really simple hostel with some improvements needed. Be mindfull that the walls are thin, you could encounter insects and that some parts look dirty or under construction. So no it's not pretty, but being this close to central and being cheap, it does have it uses.

Building in urgent need of renovation, completely dilapidated. Mold in all “bathrooms” (one shower per floor) Poor hygiene between cabinets and under beds. There are cockroaches in the lobby, and when you mention it to the staff, nothing is done about it...

Hi Zagreb Hostel? More like Bye Zagreb Hostel. This is hands down the worst hostel experience I have ever had. Do not stay here unless your travel dream is to experience life in a low budget jail cell. There is no kitchen, because apparently cooking is a luxury. Every single time you need a plate, fork, or anything useful, you have to ask the staff like you are bothering them. Fantastic system. The rooms feel like prison cells. Cold, depressing, and completely soulless. And the keys. They still use one physical key shared between six people. Whoever comes back last has to return it to reception. Brilliant idea. Truly modern hospitality. There is no upper age limit, so the place is full of old creepy guys who snore all night. Sleeping is impossible. It is basically a horror soundtrack of choking, growling, and chainsaw noises until morning. Bathrooms are a joke. One shower per floor. One. Hope you enjoy waiting or planning your entire life around shower schedules. Lockers exist, but security clearly does not. The locker keys can be opened easily by anyone at any time, so your belongings are never really safe. What makes this even more insulting is that this hostel chain is actually very good in the USA and other countries. They clearly know how to run hostels. But in Europe, they completely neglect this one because it still makes money anyway. Since other hostels are profitable, they simply do not care. Minimal effort, maximum profit. So in one sentence. Hi Zagreb Hostel, I say bye Zagreb to you. Never again.
