Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands

Excellent stay at the Hilton in the Faroe Islands. The breakfast was fantastic, with the waffles, salmon and avocado being the highlights. As always with Hilton, the bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were great. You simply know you will sleep well. The views are not the most dramatic in the Faroes, but the location in Tórshavn is very convenient. And this is a place where you will spend most of your time outside anyway, exploring the incredible Faroe Islands. A great and very comfortable base for the trip!

The room was at best Ibis-level. The quality of the materials and decor was low-end. Many details are already showing their age very poorly. The reception was just okay. Far from Hilton standards.

A beautiful hotel in an excellent location in Tórshavn, making it the perfect base for exploring and hiking across the Faroe Islands. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and functional. A special mention goes to the breakfast, which is outstanding. There is a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options, and the breakfast staff are exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always willing to share helpful tips about the islands and hiking routes. A special thank you to Guilhem, who looked after us every morning with genuine kindness, professionalism, and great local advice. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the housekeeping service. For a hotel of this standard, it falls well below expectations. The rooms are only cleaned every other day, and on one occasion, housekeeping was even forgotten altogether. When the room was cleaned, it often felt rushed: hair was still left on the floor, the vacuuming was incomplete, and the bathroom cleaning was superficial, with water spots and streaks left on the taps. The bed was made properly, but the overall cleanliness did not meet the standards expected from a Hilton property. This is a significant drawback because, apart from the housekeeping, the hotel provides an excellent overall experience. A very nice hotel, ideally located in Tórshavn for exploring the Faroe Islands. Its location is perfect for easily exploring the islands and hiking. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and functional. A huge plus is the breakfast: it is very varied, high-quality, and well-stocked. The dining room staff is remarkable, always smiling, welcoming, and available to share valuable advice on sightseeing and hiking. A special thank you to Guilhem, who assisted us each morning with great professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness. On the other hand, a major negative point concerns the housekeeping. For an establishment of this category, the level of service falls far short of expected standards. Housekeeping is only done every other day, and it was even forgotten once during our stay. When it is done, the cleaning is often very superficial: hairs are still present on the floor, the vacuuming is incomplete, and the bathrooms are quickly cleaned with streaks and drips left on the faucets. The bed is made properly, but the overall cleanliness deserves much more attention. This is regrettable, because apart from this crucial point, the hotel offers a very pleasant experience.

We enjoyed it a lot here: Great rooms with nice view, great atmossphere in this modern hotel. The breakfast is very nice. We also had dinner here twice, which we enjoyed a lot.

The hotel offers comfortable accommodations, excellent service, and beautiful ocean views in a peaceful setting just outside the center of Tórshavn. 📍 Location: 9/10 The hotel is located in a quiet area about a 20–30 minute walk (with some uphill and downhill sections) from the center of Tórshavn. While the walk is scenic and enjoyable, it may be challenging for guests with mobility concerns. Having a rental car is highly recommended if you plan to explore the islands or dine in town frequently, as taxis can otherwise become necessary. If you book an ocean-view room, you will be rewarded with beautiful views of the surrounding coastline and landscape. 🛏️ Room: 9/10 Our room was clean, modern, and very comfortable, with an excellent bed and a spacious bathroom. The ocean-view rooms are especially desirable and offer wonderful scenery. Our room was on the opposite side of the hotel overlooking the street, so the view was less impressive. The room had a number of USB outlets. 🤝 Service: 10/10 The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and professional. Normal check in time is 3pm. We were allowed an early check in which was very helpful. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient, and everyone we interacted with was helpful and attentive. 🍽️ Food: 10/10 Breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options. The made-to-order omelet station was a particularly nice touch. The hotel also has an on-site restaurant, although the lunch and dinner menu is somewhat limited, so we chose to dine in town most evenings. 🏋️ Facilities: 9/10 The hotel has a well-equipped fitness center with treadmills, elliptical machines, free weights, and wonderful views while exercising. There is also a good spa (available for an additional fee) and reliable Wi-Fi throughout the property. There is no swimming pool. The hotel had international electrical adapters for use during our stay. 👍 Highlights * Beautiful ocean views (especially from ocean-view rooms) * Comfortable and modern accommodations * Outstanding service and excellent breakfast 👎 What Could Be Better * The hotel is somewhat removed from the town center. A rental car is highly recommended for convenience, especially if you plan to explore the Faroe Islands or dine out regularly. * Guests without a car may prefer staying closer to central Tórshavn for easier access to restaurants and attractions. Would I Stay Again? Absolutely — but I would rent a car next time. Would I Recommend It? Definitely. Final Thoughts The Hilton Garden Inn Faroe Islands is an excellent choice for visitors seeking a quiet, comfortable hotel with beautiful ocean views, outstanding service, and an exceptional breakfast. Although it is slightly outside central Tórshavn, the peaceful setting, modern facilities, and scenic surroundings make it a wonderful base for exploring the Faroe Islands — especially for guests with a rental car.

For a new hotel, the plumbing was terrible because the bathroom shower flooded immediately. I also prepaid for a specific room type but they downgraded me upon arrival and was told that the hotel overbooked that room type. It was unacceptable. And lastly, the window was also broken so it wouldn't close properly and it was super windy so it was very very noisy all night.

Nice hotel, worth paying extra for the view. But, beware about booking a taxi from the hotel to the airport. I asked the hotel to book one for me, and instead of getting the regular standard rate they charged me nearly $200 US and said it was because the hotel booked it.

Great location. Nice rooms. Fabulous Service. So why 1 star? Well Hilton as a brand you need to get a grip on what you are offering. The hotel does not do gluten free. A little education would help the staff. As a customer I hate having to ask about everything. Here I had to go and bring my own carbs to the breakfast table. No point in having cheese, jam, etc without anything to fill you up. In an independent hotel I expect it. In a world wide hotel brand I dont. The same at dinner. No i couldn't have fries because they didnt have a separate fryer. I could have cheese but no crackers. I couldn't have gluten free toast. No gluten free bread and no separate toaster. Its not expensive to do so why are you not catering for it? Please dont say there isn't enough demand. Most folk who are coeliac tend to accept this as 'normal'. But to walk away from a hotel hungry is simply not good enough. Great shout out to the staff there. They were very good.

Although I only checked in because my flight was canceled, I would still highly recommend it. The view was amazing, and the food was also very good.
