Ok for the price. The room was small and basic, but the view and the staff compensated it.

Ideally located, 100 meters from the pedestrian streets and main squares, with a view of the St. Maurice church square. Excellent welcome, preferential parking rate, reasonable price. It makes you want to come back. The room is adequate and very clean, with its own little old-world charm.

Upon arriving at the hotel at 2 PM to check in, the receptionist informed us that our room wasn't ready yet, even though the website clearly stated that rooms were available from 2 PM. So, my father and I went for a walk around the neighborhood while we waited for the room to be ready. At 3 PM, we returned to the hotel reception: obviously, the room still wasn't ready. We were starting to get impatient, as we had paid for a room available at 2 PM. The receptionist, overwhelmed by the situation and our dissatisfaction, suggested we wait in the breakfast room to be told when our room would be available. She also offered to provide us with breakfast on the morning of our departure. Meanwhile, she called someone urgently to finish cleaning a room, as if by chance… Also, since the cleaning in the other rooms wasn't finished on time, there was no way to get any rest given the incessant vacuum cleaner noise until 4:30 PM. And of course, to top off our wonderful stay at your establishment: We had the delightful surprise of discovering that during our absence from the hotel this morning, upon our arrival at our room, the door was open, and a cleaning lady was already preparing to check out the room for a new reservation, knowing that our personal belongings were obviously still in the room at that moment.

The Hotel Saint Maurice is my usual place to stay in Lille. It's near Old Lille, opposite the magnificent Saint Maurice Church. Its elevator always takes me back a few years, and its rooms are perfectly furnished. The staff I've met there are always wonderful. And the option to leave your luggage in the luggage room to wander the streets of Lille is a particularly welcome feature.

The hotel is well-located, charming, clean, and offers a generous breakfast. I recommend it.

Cancelled my booking 3 days before my stay due to what appeared to be a systems issue. My card was working elsewhere and I revalidated it on booking.com multiple times following prompts from the hotel to revalidate it. I messaged the hotel to check if there was an issue, but no response then a sudden cancellation. Not a nice situation to be left in when arriving in city so late in the evening.

Absolutely avoid this place! One of the worst hotel experiences of my life. We booked a standard room for a romantic weekend in Lille and ended up in an economy room, clearly the lowest-end room in the hotel. From the moment we walked in, we were completely disappointed: no amenities whatsoever (no bottled water, no coffee maker, no kettle), a ridiculous bathroom with a door that looked like it belonged in a caravan, and a metal ceiling that was barely hanging on, especially in the shower. The paint was peeling everywhere. As for the sleeping arrangements, they were hell: a very uncomfortable mattress and no soundproofing whatsoever. We could hear absolutely everything that was going on in the neighboring rooms. The television was mounted in such a way that it was impossible to watch it from the bed… which is to say, it was completely useless. The icing on the cake: the receptionist told us with a smile that "we were lucky to have a double bed." Coming for a weekend getaway with my wife and being told this in a supposedly decent hotel is simply appalling. The photos on Booking.com are very misleading and don't reflect the reality of these low-end rooms at all. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. For the price, there are much better options in Lille. A real disappointment.

One of the worst nights ever... - You can hear everything through the walls... - Disgusting smell: sewage 🤢🤢 - I was bitten by so many mosquitoes (about forty bites). There must be stagnant water nearby. I barely slept 3 hours last night. - Very old hotel. It was too hot. I definitely do not recommend it!
