//This constant complaining—it's unbelievable! Businesspeople have to do business./Berlin is expensive, especially the rents. If you want to eat in bulk, get cake in a bag./So many shops here have already closed, and what are you complaining about?/"The slices of cake have gotten smaller," is that what you want for tomorrow's wages?/And then they want a tip too? What stingy people you all are!/A huge selection of cakes and tarts, sure—not everyone loves all the varieties./For me—Mr. Minsch—the best shop in Kreuzberg to enthusiastically indulge in cake./And—what also makes for good service? You reap what you sow!//
The cakes are always delicious, in many different varieties. We've been coming here for years and always enjoy it. The interior is a bit old-fashioned, and the service isn't exactly fast... everything feels rather slow-paced.
Mr. Minsch has delicious cake. However, the rude service is not acceptable. I bought two slices of cake there today--totaling 11 Euro. I paid with a 50 Euro bill because I had forgotten my credit card at home. They returned 30 Euro and then the owner (I assume Mr. Minsch?) came with a massive amount of coins and ordered me, in a very rude way, to hold out my hand where he proceeded to dump about 40 coins in my hand. I just stood there not sure what to do, and he commented "Next time bring a card, we can't make change for you," and he walked away ignoring me. Excuse me, isn't it your JOB as a reputable business to make change for people when they pay? It is YOUR responsibility as the business owner to treat your customers with respect. I understand this is Berlin and it's apparently normal to be nasty to your customers, but civilized people do not behave this way. Learn how to behave and speak to your customers.
We found it on Google during a search before our vacation in Germany and we weren't disappointed! Delicious sweets and a polite and welcoming staff. It definitely made our trip to Berlin a positive experience.
