Rheinhotel Dreesen

I've had the pleasure of staying here several times for work. My very first visit was wonderful: the room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom perfectly adequate. The hotel has a charming, rustic feel – which is part of its appeal. My personal highlight: the breakfast! A fantastic selection, fresh and absolutely delicious. The view from the breakfast room is also particularly lovely, and combined with the peaceful morning atmosphere, it makes for a perfect start to the day. The staff were also friendly and attentive. On my last visit, I was heavily pregnant, and they provided me with a bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and even helped me with my luggage. All in all, a great hotel with excellent service and beautiful rooms!

I had several hotel options for my business trip, including cheaper and newer ones. Since I'd stayed at the hotel before and it has a long-standing tradition, I wanted to go to the Dreesen. However, I'm not happy with my choice. The room was small and overlooked the courtyard. I also had to keep all the curtains closed so no one could see in from the room directly across the hall. I asked about an alternative, but they would have cost me €20 or approximately €100 more for a different room. On my next business trip, I'll definitely choose a different hotel, as the room is one of the most important aspects of any trip. Otherwise, the service at breakfast was excellent, and the staff at reception were friendly. But of course, that should be standard.

A long-established hotel with patina and charm. A bit dated, it's undergoing careful renovations. The beer garden, for example, has been wonderfully modernized. The chestnut garden is still waiting for its turn. Our room had a balcony with a view of the Rhine and the Drachenfels. Unparalleled. However, we missed having a minibar in the room to keep drinks cold. Very friendly service. Oh yes: A proper hotel bar is definitely missing! Rumor has it that one will be added later…

Birthday party with friends. Buffet and service were very good 👍 The beer garden with its old trees was great, and the view of the Rhine was beautiful.

Hotel Dreesen is an impressive building with a long history. I was there with two friends, and we had lunch. The restaurant is very elegant, and the view from the windows is beautiful. The restaurant was sparsely populated, and the lunch menu was very limited; we all had veal schnitzel with asparagus—not perfect, but acceptable. The staff was also exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Night manager "von Treskow" provided the worst service ever. Booked through Check24, but the porter wanted €100 more than our confirmed booking. He wasn't interested in Check24 and couldn't do anything with the booking number. At 11:43 PM, after an 8-hour drive, it was perfect. So now we're at a new hotel, and never again Dreesen.
