We had a wonderful evening at Iron yesterday. We were served by the lovely Tim, and he's a really friendly, personable, and attentive guy – keep it up, Tim! It's a shame you're not there more often.

Great atmosphere and very creative cocktails. The service was friendly, even when it got a bit crowded. A regular spot for us!

(SUMMER 2019) The worst bar ever, absolutely avoid it if you want to be served with even a modicum of respect. One star is given because zero is impossible, but be aware that after waiting for over 25 minutes, not a single bartender bothered to serve us (and they deliberately only served men). So we decided to leave after the added surprise of discovering that the toilets were also pay-to-use (for customers... in short, a disgrace). Not to mention the fact that they try to rip you off by not giving you your change. Then, to top it all off, as we were leaving the bar, since we were incredibly thirsty after all that time, we decided to drink our bottle of water in the street in front of the bar, where a hysterical barmaid attacked us for it, using the excuse that I couldn't sit and drink outside... from my own water bottle, no less. This clearly unstable person then violently shoved us, yelling at us not to drink water in front of "his bar." So apparently, for this bar, drinking water in the street is forbidden (which is, of course, illegal and completely insane), and if you do it, they think it's perfectly normal to be violent and aggressive? I've never seen anything like it in my entire life, except in this bar in Cologne, and it seems its bad reputation (apart from fabricated reviews from their German friends) is well-deserved among tourists (hello racism). I think every passing customer should be aware of what awaits them there (especially women and people who don't look like the typical German – you can see that the influence of the old mustachioed man is still quite strong in this city, as in this establishment... unfortunate). Furthermore, be aware that "couples" were having sex against the walls of this bar in the street (surely more legal than drinking water?). In short, I absolutely do not recommend this infamous place populated by dubious, sexist, and likely racist waiters who are aggressive, unstable, and uneducated.

Great cocktails, but unfortunately not (yet) a safe place for non-binary queer people. It's a shame, but maybe they'll change that in the future.
