Hôtel & Restaurant Grüner Baum Merzhausen

A very nice place to sleep, eat, and have breakfast. Everything was wonderful. The whole team is so welcoming and very good. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is showing its age. It and the food have received very poor reviews elsewhere. We booked through Spar with Reisen, and a three-course meal was included. Our meal was very good.

We've stayed at the Grüner Baum several times now, for just one night. Booking and check-in were seamless. The room wasn't huge, but perfectly adequate for one night. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, and the service was very friendly. The hotel's location was ideal for us, as my husband was attending a training course nearby. The city center is easily accessible by public transport or on foot. Everything was perfect for us. We'd gladly return.

A nice hotel where you can feel comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is no daily room service; the room is only cleaned and the linens changed upon request.

My husband and I only stayed one night at the Grüner Baum. The hotel is a bit dated, but the beer garden is cozy and inviting under old chestnut trees. The rooms are located in the attic, accessible only by two flights of stairs, and are quite sparsely furnished. The clothes rail in the wardrobe, with only one hanger, kept falling down. It's obvious that it's not always checked to make sure everything is working properly. There's no coat rack or at least one or two hooks where you can hang your jacket. There was only one small table with one chair. The beds are good and in good condition. The bathroom is small but adequate, clearly renovated at some point. Check-in and check-out are very well organized with a key safe and excellent instructions. The breakfast buffet offers everything you could want, and the price is reasonable. The hotel describes itself as sustainable because the linens aren't automatically changed every day. I think that's perfectly fine.

This year, four of us ate there over Easter, but unfortunately, none of us were happy with the taste. Since the food wasn't what we had hoped for, the price-performance ratio wasn't ideal either. The one-hour wait for our food was also too long for us. The service was friendly.

The hotel is located on a busy road. It was quiet at night. Beautiful view of the green countryside.
