Boxhotel Hannover

An overnight stay for €197 for two people – just because there's a concert in Hanover. It's outrageous to charge that price for such a tiny space – without a toilet, but with a shower. It was clean, though. It was so cramped that two people couldn't even move around.

Our box/“room” was really very small and had no window. There was also no small shelf or storage space for the upper bunk. There was nowhere to put your glasses, phone, watch, etc. nearby. Our box was also far too warm to make sleeping comfortable. It also seemed like the ventilation was inadequate. There was a small shower in our box, but no separate toilet. At a low price, you certainly have to make some compromises here and there. However, we paid €177.01 for one night (and the box isn't suitable for any longer). And for that price, I expect significantly more!

The design is generally well thought out, the beds are good, but what bothered us most was how warm it was in the box and we ended up sleeping without a blanket. This made guests a bit uncomfortable.

BED BUGS!!!

I had bedbugs in my room. I had to move to another hotel in the middle of the night and haven't received any reimbursement because no one responded to my emails.

Room was very small, but i only needed somewhere to spend the night. Price was good, people were friendly and helpful. I have stayed there often and totally happy with everything

The room was small but if you're sleeping alone it's fine from the size, i did not test the shower so I can't talk about that but there was no aeration at all which isn't good when there are no windows, therefore the room was super hot, uncomfortably so at times. The beds where comfortable though! The hallways were very confusing at first but it's okay once you know the way. The bathroom was okay, the only issue there and that there was only disinfectant and not soap, I had to take the soap from my bedroom. The walls are very thin so if there is anything a bit louder happening you hear it so be mindful but also aware you might hear others. The virtual key system worked perfectly and the staff can give you a physical card. The staff seemed pretty nice. The location is close to the main station and there is a street full of food places behind the hotel, but the way between the main station and the hotel doesn't seem like the safest and you have to walk ten to fifteen minutes to find the next grocery store. Also the whole hotel is a lot darker from the lighting compared to the pictures. Overall it's good for solo travelers and short trips but not for more.

Absolutely horrible

Beware of roommates! I didn't find any bed bugs myself, but a friend of mine had them in his room. Since then, I haven't been able to sleep properly. You can't shake the feeling that everything is itchy, and you feel really uneasy about taking your belongings home and potentially giving bed bugs a new home. Experiences like this are simply stressful and ruin the entire stay. It's better to spend a little more money on a more reliable hotel than to take this risk.

I stayed at Box Hotel Hannover and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. The room was extremely small and had no window, which made it feel uncomfortable and claustrophobic. The bathroom was directly next to the bed, and the toilet was shared, which was not clearly reflected in my expectations when booking. The worst part was that my friend found bed bugs in his bed. Even though I did not personally find any in my room, the situation created a very disgusting and stressful feeling during the stay. After that, I could not feel comfortable or relaxed anymore. In my opinion, even though the hotel is cheap, the price is not worth the experience. I would not choose to stay there again.
