Kulkwitzer See

The Kulkwitzer See ('Kulki'), straddling the western edge of Leipzig, is best known as a clear-water diving and swimming lake. It also carries a quieter, long-standing gay cruising reputation on its south-eastern side, less busy than nearby Cospudener See and very much weather- and season-dependent. As with the other lakes, treat this as a discreet warm-weather scene shared with ordinary bathers: stick to the wooded fringes, be respectful of other visitors, and keep encounters out of sight of the main beaches. Go in daylight for safety on the uneven shoreline, let someone know where you are, and always take no for an answer. Same-sex activity is legal in Germany, though public-decency rules still apply outdoors.
