Hotel Aurora

I stayed at this hotel because Air Greenland canceled its flight due to bad weather. There were only shipping containers nearby, no scenery whatsoever, but the reception staff were very friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable.

Absolutely fantastic little hotel with modern facilities. Super sweet service and great helpfulness. Fun location. But you don't notice it. Maybe walk down towards the water and enjoy the view or walk over the cliff to the statue of Hans Egede.

Truly excellent hotel to stay when you are in Nuuk, highly recommend!

From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. The check‑in process was smooth and fast, and staff went out of their way to make sure I felt welcomed and informed about everything available around the property. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and little extras like soft bathrobes, plush towels, and thoughtful in‑room amenities made my stay feel luxurious. The balcony overlooking lush gardens (or the sea, depending on your room) was a peaceful spot to relax with a morning coffee. Breakfast was one of the best hotel spreads I’ve tried — a mix of fresh local flavors and classic favorites, all high quality and beautifully presented. I also appreciated the dining options on site, which offered great variety without being overpriced. Hotel Aurora itself has a serene atmosphere that somehow feels both elegant and welcoming. Whether relaxing by the pool, exploring nearby trails, or just unwinding in the lounge area, the overall vibe is calm and upscale. The location is excellent — easy access to beaches and nature spots while still close enough to town attractions. Everything felt effortless and well‑planned, which is exactly what you want on a break. Overall, Hotel Aurora delivered on comfort, service, and experience. I’d happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a truly memorable stay.

The hotel is modern, quiet and comfortable. My room was clean and I slept very well. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location isn't the greatest as it's not close to the centre of Nuuk. It's walkable, but in bad weather it's quite inconvenient. I am not familiar with Nuuk and did not realise this at the time of booking. There is a small Thai restaurant a few doors down which serves great food. Other than that, the hotel is surrounded by small industrial buildings/workshops.

Location is terrible. No view and in an industrial area. Only one restaurant near by able to walk to.

Stayed here last year when Nuuk airport shut down (August 2024) and Air Greenland put us here for the night. Front desk staff are very kind. They let me use the freezer to keep my muktaaq frozen. My second stay here a year later (October 2025) was very pleasant. If you have a baby, you can request a baby crib in advance and they set it up in the room for you. It's about a 20 min walk to Nuuk Centre mall, so don't expect to be "downtown" or by the bars. It's in an industrial part of town so you can see the Subaru dealership; the Cross Fit gym and plenty of seacans. The lobby is very practical and there's lots of tables and chairs to sit at and wait for friends. If your room gets too warm, the windows open smoothy for fresh air which was nice.
