Ambra Cortina Luxury & Fashion Boutique Hotel

Hotel Ambra Cortina D'Ampezzo is a lovely boutique hotel. There’s a lot to really enjoy staying here but also a couple issues with sound. The reception staff are friendly and helpful, and assisted us with making a booking at a restaurant for a birthday. The room we stayed in was well appointed - comfortable chair, TV, safe, double shower heads, Nespresso machine, nice bed and pillows. Delicious breakfast - pastry, muesli, freshly cooked eggs, espresso, fruit salad etc We loved the lounge area by the front reception where we spent some time playing cards. Perfect location - 1 minute walk from the main road in Cortina. Bar/restaurant Villa Sandi is directly beside the hotel - great place for an aperitivo, something to eat and a DJ on some nights. My only hesitation about giving this hotel a five star review was outside noise was audible - low hum sound seemed to come from roof area of a neighbouring building. Maybe a vent or AirCon unit? At 5am one morning the rubbish truck came and picked up the bins, which were directly outside our room (one floor down). The fan is too noisey to use all night, but if you leave the doors open you’ll get some noise off the street. We were in room 6, our friends in 7. If noise bothers you I’d avoid these rooms.

Terrible. I was in a pinch after a long day of travel from Florence. I took 4 trains and a bus, and needed to take another two buses to my hotel, but couldn’t because it was too late. I booked this hotel in a pinch as it was in the city I was in. When I arrived, they didn’t ask me for my name or anything. I told them I booked last minute so I wasn’t sure if it came through. They didn’t ask for my name or anything, just turned me away. They said they were overbooked and I couldn’t stay. I tried multiple times to get a refund through trip.com but they denied it every time, saying they kept my room. THEY DID NOT. THEY TURNED ME AWAY. I PAID FOR A ROOM I DID NOT GET TO STAY IN. Terrible business practice. Do not stay here.

I must say that everything was way above expectations. Amazing room, great service and I loved the chill breaksfast vibe.

Great hotel on the edge of Cortina d'Ampezzo's old town. You don't need a special permit to drive through the old town because it's located right on its edge. The rooms are very stylish and luxurious with king-size beds and balconies (though not all rooms have balconies; you might end up with a "darkroom" in the basement). It's not the cheapest, but it's the best located, just a 5-minute walk to the charming old town. Breakfast is very expensive at €25; we skipped it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, even with the limited parking when the hotel is fully booked. Something to be aware of: For some reason, all of Cortina is a construction site after the Olympics. One of them is right next to the hotel. Many shops and restaurants are closed during the Nai (the local term for the hotel), but you can find good options within walking distance.

We spent one planned and one unplanned night at the Hotel Ambra in mid-May. First off: I would give the management ten more stars for their helpfulness. The support we received was truly exceptional. Our room was very nicely and comfortably furnished. The breakfast was excellent. The location was central, with everything within easy walking distance. A fantastic hotel. Thank you again for everything.

A truly beautiful hotel, a real feast for the eyes. The service is warm and welcoming from the moment you arrive. The "Emotion" room is lovely, but why is the bed in the middle of the room?! The bathroom is very elegant. The shower gel and shampoo are very nice. The breakfast is very good, but there wasn't enough choice… I found the value for money to be average! But prices vary a lot on Booking.com…. The location is simply superb.

We stayed three nights in May. The hotel is nicely located a block from the primary downtown street. The staff is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is served in the morning, there are other restaurants within a few blocks and pizza is across the street. Beautiful views, excellent water pressure, unique decorations. The WiFi was good to video chat with family members and backup photos.

The staff and manager were absolutely wonderful. The room was so beautifully stylish and perfectly balances authentic old world charm with modern amenities and luxury. My partner is from Europe and he was over the moon with the property. My first stay in the Dolomites was sadly brief but so memorable thanks to the Ambra. Ski shop and Faloria cable car is so convenient, even in ski boots! I would love to return! Grazie Mille JC

I had the opportunity to be in Cortina during the Olympic Games. We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel in Cortina. The location is excellent – ​​right in the center, so restaurants, shops, and the promenade are easily accessible on foot. The service was consistently friendly and attentive; you feel very welcome. I would especially like to highlight the breakfast: a good selection, fresh products, and a very relaxed start to the day. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and perfectly adequate for a stay in the Dolomites. Overall, a very pleasant hotel with a prime location and a team that truly cares about its guests. I would gladly stay here again on my next visit to Cortina.
