Best view in Luxembourg. Excellent food . I eat tartar de boeuf!! 10/10

My partner tried to book a window table for my birthday at this highly-rated spot in Luxembourg City, famous for its stunning views. We were told no reservation was needed. Big mistake. When we arrived, the bar was closed for a private event. They seated us in the adjacent restaurant in a pitch-dark corner with zero view. We politely asked to move closer to the windows since the whole point of coming there is the view but were told those tables were reserved for the restaurant opening, even though the place was completely empty. After 30 minutes of being ignored, another staff member finally let us switch to a window table. Great… except no one came to serve us. I ended up ordering at the bar myself. We sat for another hour before yet another employee demanded we move immediately because they needed to prep the table. We explained we were leaving in 10 minutes. Her rude reply: we had to move right now. That was the final straw. What was supposed to be a special birthday evening turned into one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. The venue looks premium and the views are spectacular, but the disorganization, lack of communication, and shockingly rude staff made us feel like unwelcome intruders. One guy (possibly the manager) was decent. Everyone else was dismissive and unprofessional. Avoid this place at all costs until they sort out their operations and train their team. High-end setting, bottom-tier service.

The staff were polite, but the experience was horrible. I booked in advance to ensure a good table with a view, but on the day, we were told the bar was reserved for a private event. We were seated in the restaurant next door at a table in the very back, far from the windows, in a dark corner, even though the restaurant was empty, under the pretext "we open in two hours and the tables are already set" (translation: "we're going to treat you like dirt because we don't want to clear the table"). Then a manager, clearly more intelligent, moved us to a table by the window, which was much better. Except that no one came to take our order. Then, 10 minutes before the restaurant opened, we were chased out, told "I won't have time to prepare the table if you don't leave now"... IN SHORT: a clear need for junior staff training. A disastrous experience.

Cocktails and views

Even though the weather wasn't great, my girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at L'Observatoire. The atmosphere is truly elegant and cozy, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a lovely moment together. The service was top-notch, and the cocktails were excellent. It's easy to imagine how incredible the view must be on a clear day; it definitely makes you want to come back! A truly wonderful experience that I highly recommend. 11/4/26

On the restaurant side, the food was very good and the service was excellent. On the bar side, the cocktails were great, but when I went there weren’t many food options available — they were on the menu but not actually in stock 🫩 — and the service felt a bit rushed.

A very pleasant time with a dynamic, young, and attentive team. Thank you for this experience with a breathtaking view of Luxembourg City. I particularly recommend the Roche Beau Bois cocktail 👌🏼
