Hôtel Dom José Beach

The hotel is in a great location across from the beach. Facilites and room were good and clean. The staff need to learn to smile and be more helpful. They lack the warmth expected from hotel staff.

Just finished a 5 night stay. Great location right accross the promenade from the sea. Our superior room was lovely even though it did not correspond with the photos online. The photo showed a seperate sitting area. Nonetheless, we had a large balcony.Very clean. Towels are not great quality. Breakfast was good but the same every morning. Did not have the buffet dinner. The lobby area is nice with bar menu, smoothies were very good but 5 euros for a cappucino seems a bit excessive. The pool area was not enticing, beds very close together and facing the promenade with dark decking. The beds & parasol on beach were 15 to 18 euros per day. There is a charge per day of 2 euros per towel. I would suggest it would be better to charge a deposit for the towels with refund on return at end of stay. Unfortunately while we were here it was impossible to get into the sea due to strong waves and current. The resort is very much a beach resort and great for walking. Overall service was very good. The girl on reception could be warmer. I am giving 4 stars as pool area not attractive and sea not possible to enter.

We returned to Dom Jose Hotel after five years and were once again absolutely delighted with our stay. The hotel is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and feels incredibly safe and welcoming throughout. The pool area is beautiful, with plenty of comfortable seating to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We also really enjoyed the breakfast each morning, and the lunches were delicious and very reasonably priced. One of the biggest highlights is the location ; the beach is literally just 100 steps away, making it perfect for a relaxing seaside holiday. Overall, we had another fabulous stay and were reminded why we loved this hotel so much the first time. We will definitely be back again in the future!

I stayed at the Dom Jose Beach Hotel during our trip to the Algarve and had a truly wonderful time. It's a hotel that, in terms of services and atmosphere, easily surpasses its three stars. The pool is beautiful and meticulously maintained, perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach or walking. The rooms are spacious, quiet, comfortable, and equipped with new, efficient air conditioning, something we greatly appreciated during our stay. The staff was always courteous, helpful, and never intrusive, with that discreet kindness that makes you feel welcomed without being overbearing. The food also pleasantly surprised us: both breakfast and dinner—the option we chose—were good quality and well-organized. The cocktails at the bar were also excellent. The location is extremely convenient, right on the long seaside promenade, ideal for exploring on foot and enjoying the Algarve atmosphere. Free parking is also easy to find in the area, another very convenient detail. If you happen to be in the area, this could really be a good choice for a stay.

Great hotel. The waitress at the pool bar was very unpleasant… a shame, it deserves better… otherwise, it was great.

We have recently returned from yet another excellent holiday at the Dom Jose. Having booked for 3 weeks I had to extend for another week as I was too unwell to fly home. I would like to thank and commend Marina,Manoj,Rinuja,Rosa and Antonio, for their kindness and thoughtfulness. We do hope to be there again next year.
