Monsanto is Lisbon's huge hillside forest park west of the centre, and its quiet trails and car parks around Alto da Serafina have been a discreet after-dark gay cruising spot for years. It is outdoors and unlit, so go with the usual common sense: keep to areas where other people are around, watch your valuables, and trust your instincts. Busier on warm evenings and weekends. Not an organised venue — just a place men have long used to meet.
