KAO Chinese Restaurant and Private Karaoke

We can only recommend Kao: excellent service, elegant decor, tasty and elaborate cuisine. We did not test the karaoke which is on the 1st floor.

Amazing, delicious food, great, atmosphere

The tofu salad and the sesame prawn toast were tasty. The dim sum platter and the spring rolls were delicious. The level of service by their staff was top-notch.

Great decoration, loved the toilets, staff very friendly and prompt. . .the issue is that portions are too small for the price. Me and my daughter (15 years old) loved the food but still felt hungry so we order two dishes more. We ended up paying 150 Euros (no wine or beer).

One of the most elegant chinese food places in Bucharest. The serving verry good . The food excelent. The music was fine. We eat a menu for 4 person. Its a bit expensive, but you are in Bucharest !

Visited the restaurant late at night - not full but lots of guests. Food tasty, good/friendly service, central location and nice interior.

Went to Kao restaurant for a lovely meal tonight but was charged 1700 Ron for a bottle of red wine cabernet sauvignon silver oak. We were not made aware being British that this wine cost us £293 GBP Total rip off Buyer beware these things go on around us. Left us with a very bad taste in our mouths. Shame on you.

I stumbled upon KAO while wandering through Bucharest’s old city on a solo business trip, searching for dinner. What a fortunate find! The restaurant has a modern and cozy atmosphere that immediately made me feel welcome – the perfect setting for a relaxed dinner, even when dining alone. I ordered quite a feast: the dim sum platter, pak choi, salt and pepper fried squid, and roast char siu. Every single dish was amazing – the flavors were authentic and expertly prepared. The dim sum was delicate and flavorful, the squid perfectly crispy with just the right amount of seasoning, and the char siu had that beautiful caramelized exterior with tender, juicy meat inside. The service matched the quality of the food – attentive and friendly, which made dining alone feel comfortable rather than lonely. If you’re in Bucharest and craving excellent Chinese cuisine, KAO is absolutely worth a visit. **5/5**
