We visited yesterday with a bus trip. Monday 25th May I had ordered a ham salad. What a pitiful salad .. lettuce tomato egg a few slices of thin ham and a few chips. There was it no cucumber no coleslaw no cheese. We weren't evan offered salad cream or mayonnaise. Very disappointed. Won't be back in a hurry T.N

Beautiful Hotel with a beautiful view and a coastal path just outside the door and a alpaca farm just round the corner. Bus stop just near the hotel with a direct route to Aberdeen City Centre. Hotel provides Breakfast and Dinner with a seating area what has fabulous views of the Sea. A bar area too. Everything is well sign posted. Old fashioned keys for the room. Staff are very polite and welcoming.

A bonus find, ended up having a great lunch here. Also tried the Iron Bru Lager - quite nice but too sweet for me.

Went in for lunch (thanks to Grok in the car). We'd never have found this place on our own. Anyway, dog friendly in the bar area. Menu's available for bar & restaurant though, so that was great. Woman serving us never stopped. Honestly she must do 20,000 steps a day. The food was excellent. Husband had Sea Bass and was delighted. I had a meat feast baguette which was very good. Anyway, this will be our go to place when in Aberdeen. No need to park in the city or worry about bus gates. This place was 2 miles from the roundabout at the Tesla Garage! 😁

Booked a table for Mother's Day as we always go for lunch here on Mother's Day, Father's Day and many other times throughout the year as a family. I have been going for many years as the food is usually excellent with great service and a relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately on this occasion it was not the case. We booked a table for 3pm for 2 hours as per the website. The whole experience from arrival to leaving we were rushed. This can be understandable at busy times, especially on Mother's Day, however surprisingly it was not full, there were empty tables and a lot of staff members so the level of rush did not seem justifiable. What upset me most was not only that we felt rushed out but the service fell short of what I have always experienced at Cove Bay. The staff members were rude, completely uninterested in providing good friendly service and had an attitude when asked a question. The specials of the day were not shared with us, we received a snappy response when we reminded our server we were waiting on a side dish, and we were reluctantly given condiments when we politely requested them. The meal itself on the whole was nice, however again it was served within 10 minutes and there was 1 meal in particular that was not eaten as it was very greasy which affected the whole plate. When the plates were collected this was not questioned, and quite frankly it seemed like the server did not care and just wanted us out. We then were offered the dessert menu which we accepted, and within a few minutes another server approached the table to ask if we wanted anything, to which I responded that we had not yet had a chance to look at the menu and make a decision. Another 2 minutes later the server approached again and asked if we wanted anything, to which I replied no, its ok, we will just leave it as we felt uncomfortable. We were just chatting and trying to enjoy our afternoon with our parents but felt an inconvenience the whole time so we left without having dessert or a cup of tea. This is really disappointing, particularly on Mother's Day as it cut short an afternoon that should have been enjoyable. In total we were in the restaurant for 50 minutes, so 1 hour 10 minutes less than our allocated time slot (which we were reminded of on arrival) what was the major rush? On paying our bill I mentioned my feelings to the girl at the bar who was very nice and just said she apologised and would pass it on to her manager. I am reluctant to return after this as I am really disappointed and dont feel that this service for a restaurant that I would not class as 'cheap' is acceptable and completely unjustified. A disappointing end to Mother's Day for us and disappointing for Mum who we chose Cove Bay for to enjoy a nice meal.

I’d come up just for dinner if it weren’t for the 9 hour drive. The food was amazing, the staff were so friendly and the rooms were very nice. I’d come again.
