Charming historic hotel very close to the train station. Great self-serve breakfast as well.

Love this hotel. It’s a gem. Clean and comfortable, close to the station and gardens, helpful and professional staff, hearty breakfast and yummy fika.

Great hotel, highly recommended! The rooms were great and had everything you need (hairdryer, iron, shampoo & conditioner) as well as good blackout curtains & were quiet at night. The breakfast was great with many different options and everything was delicious. Homemade every afternoon. You had to leave the keys at the reception when you went out which was so convenient, the reception is staffed 24/7. All the staff were very kind and very helpful.

One and only hotel in Gothenburg, Sweden! It was like staying in a historical establishment with modern facilities and kindest hospitality! Breakfast was included with a great deal of choices but not much daily variation. We especially loved the 24-hr coffee/espresso/latte/hot water machine and daily desert after 2 pm. There were a Windows PC and two IPads in the first floor hallway for guests if needed. The room was clean and beds were comfortable (it was a little softer for me though). The location was perfect for walking to restaurants, shops, and attractions. The nearby garden next to the canal should not be missed. It was only 5 minutes walk to the Gothenburg Central Station. We had a wonderful stay and hope to come back soon!

Super cozy hotel with a good location. Very familiar and nice as a contrast to the big chains. They had orange marmalade for the wife!! 10 points just there. One star removed because we got the smallest tiny room upstairs and because they didn't change our towels during our entire stay.

I booked Hotel Royal the last minute. And boy, am I glad I did. I had the privilege to interact with at least 3 different hosts at check-in counter through 2 nights. And each was very professional, friendly, eager to help. Rooms are as one would expect in European hotels. But super clean - bathrooms, beds, linens, everything. The hotel is super close to all attractions, and to the Central Station. Breakfast - the buffet is not the largest by any means, but the food is fresh and delicious. I loved my stay.
