Look, yes — it’s a little shoddy and looks like it belongs in the 70s, but it gets the job done and has competent, personable people in the delivery ward. Where I would improve things is the post-natal ward as it seems like there are communication and staff issues. However, the food was clearly better than Karolinska (Karolinska was microwaved findus on a platter, essentially), and had much better taste, nutrition, and variety — so kudos for that. Overall, it’s clearly a good, perhaps excellent system (once remaining staff issues in post-natal are improved), and not having to amputate a limb to pay for birth clearly outweighs the cons for me. Yes, I’m an American (now Swedish citizen) who moved here years ago without fully understanding how valuable this tax money-funded process would be (imagine paying a million kronor to give birth if even the slightest of complications occurs). A little gratefulness never killed anyone.
Worst emergency room I went in by ambulance because I have a chronic illness that needs to be treated urgently, the ambulance staff told me that and I felt terrible. I went to the emergency room at SöS, was there for 13 hours, no one checked on me, and I saw how people went home after a long wait, it's completely unacceptable. I waited 15 hours, then the doctor came and saw that my values were bad, so I was admitted and was in hospital for a week. You can die here before you get help, the worst emergency room!!
Extremely rude treatment from the receptionists. Where they sit with their phones and scroll but at the same time say "we work as quickly as possible". So there are several of us who sit with a queue ticket and wait while the nonchalant staff here sits on the lazy side
had to wait until 2:00 AM to get tested for my concussion again
Worst hospital and staff.😡
Damn, healthcare in Sweden just gets worse and worse
