Missing occupies a corner of Bromsgrove Street in Birmingham’s Gay Village, roughly near the Hurst Street end. It’s run by the same crew that operates the XXL club brand, a setup that has stayed consistent since 2010. The space was converted from a cabaret bar into a straight-up party venue. That means loud music, aggressive drink deals, and a crowd that doesn’t really kick in until the late hours. Doors open at midday. On weeknights, the place runs until 03:00. Fridays and Saturdays stretch to 04:00. Because it stays open later than most spots in the Village, it’s the natural landing spot for those who’ve been drinking elsewhere and need somewhere to finish the night. You’ll see the heaviest crowds late on weekends. For current lineups and events, check the website.

This is my first ever review, & I had to write this up as I've never had such top notch excellent service from a bartender in Birmingham or around UK. I was waiting at the bar to order my drinks, and one bartender caught my attention ( his name was Joey, tall, smiley & friendly) and said he'll serve me, he was just busy serving someone before, and he came back to me, served me my drinks asked if I wanted ice and a straw with a friendly smile, I said yes to both. And throughout the night he remembered my drinks and remembered the little things such as ice and straws, very very polite and friendly and approachable. Any issues I went to him, ie - toilets, smoking area, closing times and etc I used to work in a bar many years ago, and if I was a Manager or in the Managerial role, I would be looking to make that young man Joey, to step the ladder to further his career, he's got what it takes and he is what makes bars superb and he has made Missing bar a place I would definitely visit again because of his impeccable service with a smile 😊

Turning into a straight bar and going downhill. Need a refurb, it smells and is sticky, feel so dirty after going here. Security have gone crazy strict and on some sort of power trip now. Not a friendly place anymore, unfortunately I won’t be back.
