Beautiful view from room, nice clean rooms, friendly staff, only annoyance was having to go back on ourselves to go North. Good price tho.

Our stay was extremely disappointing for me, my family, and our friends. We booked three rooms, but faced several maintenance problems, including a broken bathroom lock and a faulty toilet. Because of the toilet issue, we had to use another room’s bathroom, which was very inconvenient. When we informed the reception staff, he checked the issue but said he could not do anything at night. We also requested to vacate the rooms and asked for a refund, but he said he could not return the money without the manager’s permission. No proper support or solution was provided. The staff’s attitude was rude and unhelpful throughout our stay. Overall, it was a waste of money, and I would not recommend this place to others.

Very bad service. We booked 3 rooms on 12/05/2026, but the toilet door lock in one room was damaged , and the toilet in another room was not working properly. The staff behaviour was very rude, not cooperative , they are not sorting out the problem and overall it was a terrible experience. Definitely not recommended.

Great view and genuinely helpful staff at reception, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the room itself really let the stay down. It felt very worn and in need of renovation. The bathroom tiles had peeling paint, and after showering I ended up with bits of paint stuck to me, which isn’t what you expect. The sofa bed was stained, and the window seemed to be letting water in. There also appeared to be mould on the windowsill that had just been painted over rather than properly dealt with. Overall, a disappointing stay. The staff were good, but the condition of the room needs serious attention so I won't be returning.

This room should not have been let out as it needs total refurbishment. The bathroom was in a very poor state worn chrome wobbling taps rusty radiator. The bedroom carpet was badly stained as was the sofa bed and the furniture within a very poor state of the veneer had split and with lifting and the lock on the bedroom door was broken. This room was in need of a total refurbishment and should not have been let out.

Ideally situated halfway home on our journey from Scotland. A beautiful location and dog friendly. On arrival the receptionist suggested a more suitable room, than we had been allocated, at the end of a corridor so there would be less passing guests that might disturb our dog. Such a thoughtful touch. Our room was clean, fresh and roomy. Our only deduction on rating is due to tired decor in the bathroom. We had a great sleep and enjoyed our walk around the lovely dog area by the lake. We took advantage of the breakfast voucher scheme available at reception and the WH Smiths to choose from the great selection at the nearby services.

Hotel on a motorway service area. Decent and friendly welcome, but... 9 kilometers back the next morning...

Cheap headline price - but check in properly or you'll get a £60 parking fine Stayed here on 11 April 2026 as an overnight motorway stop. The hotel is on a service station site and the car park is controlled by a private enforcement company called GroupNexus. When we checked in, my wife, daughter and I filled in a form at reception with our vehicle registration. We were given no further instructions. Nobody directed us to an ANPR self-registration terminal on the reception desk. We assumed, reasonably, that the form covered us. It didn't. Weeks later a £60 Parking Charge Notice arrived from GroupNexus for staying overnight in the car park of the hotel we had paid to stay in. When I complained, the hotel manager confirmed they had requested cancellation but maintained throughout that it was the guest's responsibility to use the ANPR terminal. There is apparently a note on the check in form stating this. There was no verbal explanation of this from staff at any point during our check in. Three family members can confirm this. The fine may yet be cancelled. But the time, stress and aggravation of dealing with this should not fall on a paying guest who followed the check in process as directed by staff. If you stay here: ignore any forms, ignore what staff tell you, walk to the ANPR terminal on the reception desk and register your vehicle yourself. Do not rely on anything else. This is not an isolated incident at Killington Lake. It is a chain-wide failure to communicate a critical check-in requirement to paying guests. A search of MoneySavingExpert forums, TripAdvisor and parking complaint sites reveals multiple identical complaints from guests at Roadchef Days Inn hotels who received parking charges after staff failed to direct them to the ANPR terminal.

While the decor is a bit dated and worn (in a way expected at a busy motorway hotel) the rooms are perfectly adequate. If you don't mind paying slightly more I would recommend booking a lake view room. They will be quieter (facing away from the motorway or any road for that matter) and you get a decent view when you get up in three morning. Shower had excellent water pressure. Good to find tissues, extra towels and things like that, not all hotels of this type provide that these days. Staff was friendly and helpful.

It does what it says in the tin. Offers clean and tidy bedroom just off the motorway at great value for money. If you want more then you'll have to pay more.
