Ce que disent les critiques

Visitors frequently praise the Ropewalks Hotel's excellent central location, cleanliness, and comfortable rooms, with many highlighting the helpful staff and pleasant bar area. However, a significant recurring complaint is the lack of air conditioning in the rooms, which some found made them uncomfortably hot, even with a fan provided.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel and would not return. From the moment I arrived, the receptionist's main concern appeared to be obtaining my credit card details so that city taxes could be charged and a deposit secured. Unfortunately, the level of customer service did not improve after check-in. When I entered my room, I was shocked by the temperature. Although I appreciate there was a heatwave at the time, the room felt more like a sauna than a hotel room. There was a noisy fan circulating hot air, the control knob was broken, and the window could only be opened by a couple of centimetres, allowing virtually no fresh air into the room. I immediately returned to reception and asked whether the window could be opened further and whether an alternative fan could be provided. The receptionist showed little interest in helping and, after contacting housekeeping, informed me there were no replacement fans available. I then asked where I could find cold drinking water and was told there was no water fountain. The only option offered was for my bottle to be filled with lukewarm water from the hotel bar. As a result, I struggled to sleep throughout the night. The room remained unbearably hot and uncomfortable. Breakfast the following morning was equally disappointing. The croissants were pre-packaged rather than fresh, which I would not expect from a hotel at this price point. The sausages were poor quality, the scrambled eggs were overcooked, and the coffee was undrinkable. I suspect the milk may have been off, as the taste was unpleasant. After only a few mouthfuls of food and coffee, I left feeling very disappointed. When I returned to the hotel that evening, the room was even hotter than before. Once again, I struggled to sleep and at times felt nauseated, light-headed and close to fainting because of the conditions. By 5am I had given up trying to rest and started packing to leave. Before checking out, I spoke with a gentleman on reception and explained that I had even offered to sign paperwork accepting responsibility if the window could be opened further. I felt it was unreasonable that this option was not even considered during a heatwave. I was told the restriction was for safety reasons, but I argued that forcing guests to sleep in such extreme heat could itself create a safety risk. I genuinely felt unwell during the night and was concerned that I could faint or injure myself while alone in the room. To his credit, the receptionist said he would look into the matter, but by that point my stay was effectively over. The only member of staff who provided genuinely helpful service was the waiter in the breakfast room, who did his best to assist and accommodate me. Overall, this stay was extremely poor value for money. I paid a significant amount for a room in which I barely slept for two nights due to excessive heat, a broken fan and a window that could not be properly opened. I believe a simple and reasonable solution could have been found, particularly given that I was only on the second floor and was willing to accept responsibility for having the window opened further. I left feeling exhausted, frustrated and furious. The conditions I was expected to sleep in were unacceptable, and I would not stay here again

Unfortunately this is one of hotels I wouldn't want to return to. No AC in the room, therefore it is unbearable to stay inside the room on warm sunny day (when I stayed the outside temperature was 28C). The fan provided only circulated hot air. Otherwise rooms are fine. Breakfast, is cheap, £10 if booked in advance and it only include filter coffee and breakfast tea. If you want cappuccino, coryadoe etc, you have to pay extra! Location is good, really central, but the place is located in the centre of Liverpool's nightlife area, with many clubs and pubs. Therefore no chance of good sleep. Service was the best thing in this place, staff was helpful and professional. Big thanks to receptionist Ling who was lovely and helpful. To summarise this, the hotel is definitely great if you come to Liverpool for clubbing, terrible if you hear on business trip.
