Karl in the spa was amazing and so was Tara and super helpful and I bought loads of products to help my body skin because of their advice. Claudia tall and small Claudia and the chefs in The Gate restaurant were exceptional and above and beyond. Amanda and Aslam at reception were also very helpful and Miriam for looking after us as well. Highly recommend. Would give ten stars if it was possible but can only give 5 stars
We had a really bad experience at the reception desk, we have been at the hotel before and were told by phone with the reception staff that we could change the date of our booking, after doing that and going there today, we were told there’s no proof after we showed them bank statements and phone records and were not apologetic at all, they also said that the fact that we were clients didn’t matter. We also agreed to pay a 70£ difference but the attitude of the receptionist and manager made us leave. Not coming back.
Fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel located in walking distance to shops, pub, parks and the Richmond river. Rooms are stylish and staff are personable. Outdoor area for drinks and food has a lovely setting. Gym and spa are available and indoor pool is exceptional. Miriam at the front desk very kindly helped me to extend my stay for a few extra days and made herself available if needed. Thank You for a memorable stay. I will be back again
The spa had a wonderful atmosphere, unique garden facilities, and comfortable, clean rooms. However, the restaurant service was noticeably lacking; the wait for orders was too long and communication was poor, indicating a need for improved training and efficiency.
We stayed with three rooms on dinner, bed, and breakfast. What was good: The beds are comfy and good for sleep (assuming you're in an air conditioned room) The food was good The spa is lovely What wasn't as good: Check in went really badly, as they messed up having one room set as a twin (even though it was on our email booking confirmation direct with hotel) so took us 25 minutes check in, and the receptionist wasn't particularly helpful. Got it sorted eventually, but more difficult than necessary. The (more) accessible room (#6) isn't air conditioned, and they'd put an air cooler in there but not filled it with water Maintenance wasn't great - both sinks in one room were blocked and wouldn't drain, and the extractor fan sounded like a jet engine They've been a bit lax in the fit out on accessibility - we knew that there were some steps in advance but they haven't done essentials like having handrails which extend beyond the bottom of the stairs (a building reg requirement), and the first step into the property has no rail at all. So if you are limited mobility, this isn't great. On the night we stayed the restaurant was booked out for a private function so dinner was in the function room. Not a problem and it's perfectly fine but as a result the service was painfully slow (over 30 minutes to get our drinks when we arrived). The waiters were excellent for friendliness, but I think the event really impacted the service.
Over charged , called 4 times to sort out 3 of the 4 calls on hold 25 minutes the other staff disconnected call before speaking. The air con was broken in the room and there was a hair on my towel
