Hôtel The Jefferson

First class hotel. Beautiful interior. Well worth the price.

We only were here for the afternoon tea. There was a good selection of food and 2 types of tea. We purchased both the Jefferson and Richmond tea to take home.

(response to recent review) I did witness these beautiful ladies getting escorted for no reason. It is highly unfair that they were told to leave when others doing the exact same thing that they were doing, which was something completely harmless, and it's taking photos. Do better Jefferson! My family and I do not feel welcomed here anymore after seeing that situation go on.

I had a very disappointing experience here. My friends and I came dressed nicely and were simply trying to take photos, just like many other people there that day. There were multiple groups coming in wearing dresses and prom attire, and I even saw a family in front of us taking what looked like prom photos without anyone bothering them. However, the security guard walked straight up to me and my friends, the only people of color there at the time, and immediately told us we could not take photos or be there. What made the situation even more upsetting was that he had no idea whether we were with one of the groups already there. I was dressed in a beautiful dress just like everyone else, yet we were singled out while others were allowed in without any issue. The guard claimed his manager or boss told him we could not be there, but it was hard not to notice the difference in how we were treated compared to everyone else around us. The experience felt unfair, uncomfortable, and honestly discriminatory. I left feeling embarrassed and unwelcome, and that is not something anyone should experience when simply trying to enjoy a special moment with friends.

Family hosted a wedding at the Jefferson Hotel on Memorial Day weekend for over 200 guests. Jimmy helped us with everything and covered every little detail. The ceremony was held in the Empire ballroom and was gorgeous. Afterward we enjoyed cocktails in the Rotunda with charcuterie and a pianist. It was do elegant. Next we headed up to the Grand Ballroom for dinner and dancing. The room was set perfectly, with napkins folded as birds of paradise and all the place settings. The pastry chef made the most beautiful cake I've ever seen. Dinner service was great and after, we partied like it was 1999. All throughout Jimmy and his staff were attentive to the bride and groom and made sure everything went smoothly. Many of our guests stayed the night at the hotel, as did we. The rooms are utterly spectacular. Comfortable, spacious and beautifully appointed. I was impressed at how many of the hotel staff addressed me by name. Our experience at the Jefferson exceeded all expectations.

Lovely hotel

The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond felt elegant from the moment I arrived. The building has a classic luxury feel, and the atmosphere made the stay feel special without being uncomfortable or overly formal. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the service was professional from check-in onward. I also liked the location on West Franklin Street because it made it easy to enjoy downtown Richmond. It is definitely a higher-end hotel, but the history, comfort, and attention to detail made the experience feel worth it.
