À propos de ce lieu Destino Sur Hotel & Spa de Montaña

Destino Sur Hotel & Spa de Montaña is a mountain hotel with a spa and restaurant at Leonel Terray 370 in El Chaltén, the trekking village at the foot of Fitz Roy. The Nomadic Boys Patagonia hotel guide (updated April 2026) recommends it as gay-friendly; it is a mainstream hotel, not a gay venue. Google reviewers rate it 4.6 from about 460 reviews. The trails to Laguna de los Tres and Laguna Torre start from the edge of the village, and the spa is a good finish after a long hike. El Chaltén is about 220 km from El Calafate. Many businesses close outside the October to April season, so check dates before booking.

Very nice and comfortable new hotel Excellent breakfast. A bit out of the way and on a dirt road.

I stayed with my wife and son last week, and they truly made us feel at home. Everything was taken care of down to the smallest detail. The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The attention and service from all the staff, from the front desk and housekeeping to the breakfast area and restaurant, was exceptionally attentive and warm. I would definitely return. The mountain bikes they lend you for exploring the town are fantastic! A special mention for the quality of the food at the hotel restaurant: amazing!! We hope to return soon!!

I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. The check-in staff were very kind and communicated in English very fluently. The room was very clean, and above all, the location is the closest to the Fitzroy trekking site, making it a really convenient spot for starting and finishing the hike.

I loved the place, the service was excellent, and the room had everything I needed. I really enjoyed the breakfast, and the staff was very friendly. They even helped me by mailing an item of clothing I had forgotten; I paid for the shipping, but they were very thoughtful in helping me with that. Plus, when I paid for my stay, I was pleasantly surprised to find I had a discount. If you want to spend a few days in El Chaltén, go to Destino Sur. 100% recommended.

This is a decent hotel which is within the town and walkable (its a small town). The service was a hit and miss at times. This is eco certified hotel and they try to preserve the environment. Very supportive of that myself but don't be stingy in the guise of being environment friendly, not when you are the top rated hotel in town. So they don't give any drinking water in the room, you need to fill it from a water filter in the common area. This is still ok but they also don't give you any water bottles to fill water, also they have put a single water filter in the corner of the ground floor near reception. Atleast put a water filter on each floor and give an empty bottle atleast. We had no choice but to buy a bottle from their very expensive hotel shop else the only other way was to carry around water in our glasses. I know that most hotels in Argentina follow the practice of providing a water filter but all that I visited had a filter on each floor and a bottle in the room to refill, that's how things usually work. Outside of that, The rooms were big but made a lot of creaking noise when you walked. The breakfast was decent as well but low on options beyond the fruits and sweets. We tried the restaurant one of the days, the food was very well presented and excellent service in the restaurant but not really tasty, lacking salt and basic seasoning. The hotel was kind enough to give us an extended checkout for 1 hour so that was good as well.
