I would say it is a strong 4.5! The hotel is really nice and has an amazing view. The pool and other facilities are also good. We were offered an upgrade for our one-night stay which we appreciated and the rooms was huge and clean. The parking is big and spacious. The hotel is a little far from the town and it needs a little (pretty and nice) walk though. Some rooms (on one side of the hotel) do not have an elevator which could be an issue for some guests with luggage. The breakfast was rather poor. Very limited staff who spoke English and the bar has very limited drinks options which is a shame as it has an excellent view.

I stayed here 3 times so please read this review if you are planning to stay here and read till the end for the bathroom cleaning. While the hotel’s location and views to the lake are breathtaking you would expect from such an expensive hotel to have AC in all rooms, have a premium breakfast and have clean and impeccable bathrooms. The breakfast a few years ago was good enough and they offered fresh squeezed orange juice, several fruits (cut), types of milks at your disposal etc. This has changed, the breakfast is below average, if you want a fresh orange juice you need to pay for it and ask for lactose free milk otherwise you won’t have see it displayed. The fruits were not fresh either and I had to ask them a few times if they had something else. We arrived a couple hours before checking in and we clearly said that there was NO rush in getting the room before as we were enjoying the common area and taking a coffee at the bar. They called us saying the room was clean and ready. When I entered the room and went to the bathroom the toilet was dirty like if someone had just been there and hadn’t flush, looked and smelled disgusting. It was an unacceptable situation and very frustrating. When I complaint about it they said “well you wanted to check in earlier” instead of offering and apology right away. I didn’t even discuss with the receptionist as she clearly had a strong POV. They sent the cleaning staff one more time and we ended up staying there one night. We asked to switch rooms not only bc of the bathroom incident but also bc it was a room (1) next to the lobby area and in the middle of the night the receptionist and hotel staff were laughing and making noise. They helped with the room change but this is the minimum we expected since they never apologized for the gross incident. It’s a shame that a hotel with such a privileged location doesn’t train the staff and are lowering the bar each time. I hope they take this review seriously and don’t respond in the passive aggressive mode. We won’t be staying there again and I strongly advise you to not to. There are other places at similar price range that I’m sure are better.

Usually I don’t write reviews but since this was such a really, really bad experience since a long time I felt telling fellow travelers to definitely stay away from this hotel. You are not getting what you pay for. The rooms are really tiny with no air conditioning, the wifi is working terribly and the staff is really not listening to your complaints but giving inappropriate answers which are not helpful but taken out of the air. We would have been better off buying a tent from this overcharged rooms.

Beautiful hotel in need of updates. The hotel has unique architectural elements and stunning views, but there are some problems. Certain parts of the hotel could use some refreshing, particularly the exterior. The rooms literally have no ventilation, no ac and, because of the large windows, get very warm in the summertime. The only way to really cool them off is to open both the exterior door and the hallway door to allow cool air to flow through the room - acceptable, but it diminishes privacy. Perhaps the most unforgivable flaw is that there is a nearby alarm system that goes off repeatedly overnight, once or twice an hour, for five minutes at a time and, because of the aforementioned ventilation issue, the exterior door must remain open to keep the room cool. I didn't come all the way to the Angostura to be awoken by nuisance alarms in the night. I don't know whether the alarm belongs to the hotel or another nearby building, but hotel management should absolutely have it fixed or require the owner to have it fixed because it is negatively impacting their guests.
