It's THE gay beach in Rio de Janeiro; you absolutely have to go to Rio if you're there. The service is amazing and the caipirinhas are strong! It's packed on weekends!

The best! Gay Friendly does not mean Gay Exclusive. You'll find all sorts here who come for excellent drinks and friendly people. You haven't experienced Ipanema if you haven't experienced this place. We've been coming for years have met up with others (by accident!) who do the same. Loyalty like that says it all!

Best caipirinha in Ipanema! Denise 63's beach bar is a great place to relax, meet old friends, and meet new people on the beach. It's a great hangout for the most beautiful gay people and a safe place for the LGBTQIA+ community. We brought many of our friends from New York and San Francisco to Denise's beach bar and they all loved the atmosphere, the drinks, and Denise's hospitality. Although Ipanema is a safe place for the LGBTQIA+ community in general, Denise 63's beach bar is everyone's favorite.

We had such a nice afternoon here. Prices were reasonable and the employees were fun and attentive. Caipirinhas were strong and affordable. Paying and meeting Dona Denise was the highlight!

At first, I felt like I was in that Simpsons episode with the gay couple, when Homer goes to the gay-friendly bar, until I realized it was a gay-friendly beach. Everything was excellent, everyone was very friendly, it was very clean (unlike Copacabana), and the prices were good. Just don't sleep face down; other than that, highly recommended.

It's a gay-friendly beach. Everyone's friendly and cool. Caipirinhas are R$20. Umbrellas and chairs are R$30. You can haggle if you can't afford them. It's a noisier place, with music and everyone talking.
