Joah Inn Apartments

Based on the photos and positive reviews, we had high expectations for Joah Inn Hotel, but unfortunately, the reality was far from perfect. Upon arrival, our room was very small, with barely any space for our belongings. The "kitchen" had cabinets and a refrigerator, but no sink, no plates, no cups—quite awkward and impractical. The bathroom was cramped, with no place to put clothes, and there was also a lack of hand soap. The towels looked unsanitary, with green stains here and there, and they didn't smell quite right. The breakfast wasn't entirely satisfactory: there was no refrigeration for the products, leaving the cheese and cold cuts warm and sticky, making me nauseous. There was constant noise from construction or renovation work in the mornings. The drilling continued unbearably, creating unbearable noise. All in all, this was not a comfortable stay. The only plus point was that the hotel was located in the middle of the city, which meant you could quickly get to places.

Very comfortable base in the city center. Facilities, service, and food/drinks were all perfectly arranged!

Very pleasant hotel, excellent service, great breakfast buffet, and delicious nasi goreng. Spacious, clean room with a refrigerator, safe, and good bathroom. Swimming pool, jacuzzi, sun loungers. A 15-minute walk from Fort Zeelandia. Shops nearby, fast taxi service. Good value for money. Actually, no real drawbacks. Recommended!

Basic but large rooms and nice pool. I moved after one night to get closer to the river and more restaurants.

Perfect location if you want to discover Paramaribo…

Hotel is decent, literally three stars. Nothing great, but also not too bad or shabby. See attached photos so you can see for yourself.

The room near the breakfast/bar/lounge area is a bit noisy. The Wi-Fi is very good there, though. There's a kitchenette with a kettle, but no outlet. There is an outlet in the bathroom.

Perfectly centrally located with a nice pool and sunbeds. The ladies working during breakfast were always friendly, helpful, and alert about restocking. The bar staff, on the other hand... On Friday evening at 10:05 PM, only beer and soft drinks were being served. Wine, cocktails, etc. were no longer served because the bar was closing at 10:30 PM. Not very hospitable in my opinion. The rooms were spacious but basic. Two coat hangers for two people is really not enough. No hooks or anything similar in the bathroom to hang towels, etc. Clean towels every day, though. A bedside lamp would be a plus, as would a full-length mirror, for example, on one of the many long walls.

Centrally located with friendly and helpful staff. The room is okay: the bed sleeps wonderfully, the air conditioning works well, but the bathroom is a bit dated. The restaurant offers a variety of Surinamese and international dishes, and everything I chose was delicious. And the smoothies from the bar are fantastic.
