Avalon Salon Spa - Uptown

I have been a loyal client of Avalon Spa for about 15 years for both hair and spa services, but today’s visit completely blew me away. ​The experience started the moment I walked in—the receptionist came out from behind the desk, greeted me with a warm welcome, took my jacket, and brought me a warm cup of tea. It immediately made me feel valued and welcome. ​My hair stylist, Sunny, is absolutely amazing and incredibly attentive. While my all-over color was setting, she constantly checked on me, brought me a drink, provided covers for my glasses so I could read, and made sure any stray dye was wiped away. But the absolute highlight was the shampoo station. Sunny gives the best scalp massages, but today was next-level—while she was working her magic, another wonderful staff member came over and gave me a hand massage at the same time! It was pure bliss. Sunny’s attentiveness carried right through to the cut and blowout. ​As an operations manager in a retail setting myself, I know how critical the customer experience is. Avalon has clearly raised the bar with their customer service. I left feeling like a million bucks. Kudos to the entire Avalon team, and a special shout-out to Sunny for an absolutely flawless experience!

I had a very good experience. I always book with Sara because I know she’ll do an excellent job, whether it’s waxing or haircuts. I’ve been there multiple times with her, and I’ve always walked out a satisfied customer. She makes sure you’re comfortable throughout, is very patient with clients, and is also highly efficient. You’ll be in and out in no time and leave happy.

Very disappointing experience. At the beginning, the stylist asked me to show hairstyle photos, which was fine. Later, I asked whether I would be suitable for curly hair. She misunderstood and thought I wanted to get a perm that same day. I repeatedly explained that I was only asking for advice, not requesting a perm, but she kept saying she “didn’t have time today” and refused to listen. During this explanation, her voice became louder and louder, which made me feel very uncomfortable. Because she would not understand me, I had to ask another staff member to help explain the situation to her. After that, her attitude changed noticeably. She became rough while handling my hair and hurt me several times, especially when removing clips. I stayed very patient and politely asked if she could be gentler. She then said she could not serve me anymore and walked away, leaving me there. This was unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. I expected basic communication and respect, especially when I was only asking for professional advice. Such attitude should never appear in this industry. Would never return

I had such a great experience with Sara! I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she recreated it perfectly (exactly what I was hoping for). She’s also incredibly friendly and made the whole appointment really enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Elizabeth did a wonderful job today on my nails! She is very talented and goes the extra mile to make sure her clients are happy with the results. I enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish. Thanks! I will definitely be back!
