Creating safer jobsites means ensuring every worker has the support, equipment, and respect they need to do their job safely. For transgender and nonbinary employees, barriers such as harassment, inadequate facilities, ill-fitting PPE, or uncertainty about workplace expectations can impact both physical and psychological safety.
Learn practical approaches to creating more inclusive and safer jobsite environments for trans and nonbinary workers across the energy sector by making allyship a part of the workplace culture and gaining strategies to overcome common barriers to trans and nonbinary inclusion at work.
This is a free webinar offered as part of the “Empowering 2SLGBTQIA+ Workers in Energy” project, funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada.
Learning Objectives

Understand how workplace policies, practices, and culture influence the safety and inclusion of transgender and nonbinary workers
Develop practical strategies for addressing common barriers to trans and nonbinary inclusion and to enhance psychological and physical safety at work
Learn how supervisors, leaders, and coworkers can embed allyship into everyday jobsite culture to strengthen safety, respect, and belonging.

Rowan Venedam is a multidisciplinary artist, activist, and educator. Rowan has spent his time building a career rooted in community care. He has spent the last 10 years working with 2SLGBTQ+ communities, and finds purpose envisioning a better future for Queer and Trans people. Rowan went to the University of Alberta for Elementary Education and brings his understanding of teaching and learning to create effective change. Outside of work, Rowan is a drag artist, community leader, and proud dad to two cats.
