Hôtel Senator

Wonderful four night stay at the Senator Hotel in Saskatoon. Comfortable historic vibes in a great location at a great price. Great security as you ring to enter the hotel. Walkable to the Midtown Plaza and many shops in the area. Very friendly and efficient cleaning staff. Front desk staff was less friendly, a bit cool and struggled to be helpful (e.g. getting an iron or a wake up call). Nice continental breakfast! Overall a great stay.

If you like your sleep do not stay here music from bar rattled the whole building tell 2:30 am, then finally got some sleep, then someone decided to have a shower oh boy thats as bad as music pounding

Really good. Hotel itself and the rooms are a bit dated but that just adds to the charm. But the most important thing - the room was very clean! Location is fantastic and it was much more affordable than other hotels in the area. Winston's Pub is attached to the hotel (same ownership I believe) and it's a great option for food and drinks. Parking lot out back is quite small, so if you want a space, you'll want to park there as early as you can. But it's a locked parking lot that the staff will open for you, so it felt very secure to leave the vehicle there. Would definitely stay here again.

Parking is the worst

Great little bed and breakfast. Just be aware that parking is limited and will have to park elsewhere, water is either boiling or freezing and the breakfast is just muffins and coffee. Great hotel to rest for the night with the pubs and restaurant attached

The hotel has a nice old charm feeling. The service was top notch. We enjoyed the restaurant and the pub. The location is right downtown Saskatoon. The rooms were clean but need a bit of update. Our room was a bit stuck in the 80s. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom nice and clean. We are coming back in the summer and looking forward to our stay.

Interesting old hotel. Rooms are small but clean, service was good, price was good. The place has alot of character. Good food and drink nearby. Would definitely come back.

Booked a stay here earlier this month with two friends. One of us checked in on January 16, and it was clearly communicated to the front desk that the other two guests would arrive late due to a flight delay (between 3-6am on the 17th) When we arrived at 5:00am it was -30°C outside, and the man working the front desk refused to let us inside, even after we called the hotel, provided the guest’s name and room number, and offered to show ID through the glass door. He was extremely rude, refused to give his name, and left us waiting outside in freezing conditions. He eventually called our friend at 5:30am and demanded that he come downstairs to let us in himself. What makes this more frustrating is that he claimed there was no documentation of us, yet my name was listed on the invoice at checkout. While I understand late-night security concerns, leaving confirmed guests outside in extreme cold was unsafe and completely inappropriate, on top of being extremely rude. All other staff were lovely which grants the 2 stars, but this encounter alone makes me never want to recommend this hotel.
