Maximiliano Cantina Gay

Maximiliano is the gay cantina on Calle Morelos in the Centro Histórico, a block north of Jardín Zenea. Departure Level (January 2026) says it opened in 2009 as the first openly LGBTQ+ cantina downtown, and it kept going through the November 2024 closures that took out several other gay venues. Expect a cantina set-up with food, beer and cocktails, a DJ, karaoke and drag or stripper shows later in the night. Google lists Wednesday to Saturday from 8 pm and Sunday from 9 pm, all until 3 am. The 3.5 rating from about 230 reviews is mixed: recent ones praise the shows and prices, while a few complain about a pushy manager and door attitude.
