Hôtel Aspen Suites Anchorage Downtown

The bartender makes food as well as works the bar. Good thing they weren't busy. No pool or hot tub. Not much parking, no housekeeping unless you request. No coffee till 7am & no free breakfast.

TV didn't work and the hotel personnel couldn't care less....not impressed at all

The front desk staff is very kind and courteous. They are definitely 5 star. The rooms are freshly redone and very nice however I question if the remodel is completed. Our room had a phone and clock but neither were plugged in. When I tried to plug the phone in, I found the outlet behind the bed was unfinished and not able to accommodate a phone. Despite having to turn the AC down as low as it could go, the room remained a very warm 74 degrees so I question is the in room AC unit had not been replaced yet. We had to ask for soap but the shower was lovely and complete with shampoo, conditioner and body wash in hanging bottles. Our room was quaint and did not have a couch but there was a long credenza with a chair/desk area and 2 ottomans. The beds and linens were very nice and had the room been cooler, sleeping would have been grand. As for the "restaurant". There is a nice little bar with 4 beer options on tap along with bottles of hard liquor, several variables of wine and fountain soda to round out your evening beverage needs. Breakfast is also served for an extra fee but the hot food is only warm to cold despite getting there with 10 minutes of the start time. "Dinner" is available from 5-9 only but primarily consists of prepackaged burger and chicken patties that can be heated up and put in a sandwich or added to a plate of lettuce for a Caesar salad. As for location and security, it is within walking distance to the museum and other downtown attractions and doors, and elevators require a key to enter so I felt fairly safe. I would come back in 6 months or so and try again so perhaps for the price, it's a good option even now

If you’re arriving after hours avoid this hotel like the plague! I paid for a king room with a pull out couch (not cheap btw) and American Airlines delayed my flight almost 2 hours. When all was said and done we arrived at 2:30 am. I had emailed the hotel multiple times to ensure this wasn’t going to be an issue and to confirm my room and was told everything would be great. We arrived at the hotel to a security guard who barely spoke English, and no desk clerk. We get to the room to find it’s just a king bed for my family of 4. And this was possibly the smallest room the bed barely fit in the space. When I went to the front desk to fix this there was no one to help me and took a ton of convincing to get the security guard to finally contact the manager. Once we got on the phone she said she was 15 min away and could come down then hung up. After an hour of waiting at almost 4 am she never showed up. So I went back to my room and me my wife my 12yo and 10yo attempted to sleep in the bed together none of us are overweight but my 10&12yo are 5’7 and 5’5 and this was impossible. So I slept on the floor… nasty hotel room floor is no place to sleep.

This hotel has been very accommodating. I am here for work and it has been a great stay. Everyone is friendly here and the location is great to get to anywhere in and around Anchorage. Even the maintenance man goes out of his way to assist when he can.

Beautiful stay will come here again great staff and even greater bar even though I never went! Alaska is great same with the moose but not the steaks definitely coming back again No cap
