Rowan Tree is a small, long-standing neighbourhood gay bar at 1633 South Charles Street in South Baltimore, near Federal Hill. It's a dive-style local, not a club. People come for the pool table, the darts and a regular crowd, and karaoke runs Thursday to Sunday. Dogs are allowed inside, which suits the regulars. Google gives it 4.4 from about 140 reviews. Baltimore's main gay bar cluster is in Mount Vernon, so this is the bar for a quieter, local night south of the Inner Harbor.

Bullied by rude & entitled employees that demand grossly large tips. I always tip really well and they accused me of being a bad tipper then put my name at the bottom of the karaoke list. Absolutely appalling and sickening behavior. Beware of this place. I will not be back to this horrible scammy establishment.

What a great night. From the owner to the bar tenders and especially Kaylan! We had a ball. When we got there, we saw mostly white people and thought we should go. No!!!! What a great environment and group of people. We got comfortable and we all sung and "danced". Tip the bar tenders lol. Wonderful time, clean place, great people. Even the songs I didn't know were beautiful and meaningful. We WILL be back. Thank you Kaylan for mentioning the Karaoke. All love!
