McAlpine Creek Park is a large county greenway park on Monroe Road in east Charlotte, with trails, sports fields and a lake. Its name comes up in online cruising listings, but we found no independent, current source confirming gay activity here, so don't rely on it.
It's a busy public park used by runners, dog walkers and families, and county rangers patrol it. Same-sex relationships are legal in North Carolina, but sex in a public place is not, and it can lead to arrest. If you want to meet men, the legal options are the city's two men's saunas and the gay bars in South End and NoDa.

This park has many things to offer. It has a cross country trail that is used by local school cross country teams as well as just walkers and runners. the park has plenty of parking in the main lot or the overflow area for sports meet ups. There is a lake with a fishing pier, lots of trails and big fields for soccer or other games. There is a dog park with an off-leash area so you can toss balls or whatever.
