LGBT Detroit is a Black-led community organization rooted in the city's LGBTQ+ history, best known for producing Hotter Than July — one of the world's oldest and longest-running Black LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations, held each July with a signature picnic in Palmer Park. From its Marvin Lee Building on the northwest side, the group offers advocacy, HIV prevention, cultural programming and archival work celebrating queer Detroit.
