Camp Out Poconos

I was going through a rough time in life when first visiting campout the 2nd season. The owner, Steve went out of his way to make sure I was okay and spent time talking with me over the weekend. I have always felt the love and support at Campout. Being in recovery they have a "Fiends of Bill W " meeting every Saturday where you are able to meet others staying at Campout and that are in recovery. Thanks in part of that weekend that Steve spent with me, I have been in recovery since, Thank God!

Love it can’t wait to go back

The atmosphere is so welcoming! The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The sites and grounds are very well kept. Everyone you see smiles and waves. A home away from home! This place is a true gem and I can't wait to go again this summer!!

We are so lucky to have a place like Camp Out here in the Poconos; it's inclusive, safe, and a fantastic place to be authentically you. I had my first chance to visit last year for the Women Out Loud weekend. I was immediately struck by how beautiful the campground is and appreciated the fantastic views. The staff were wonderful and friendly and the other campers were warm and welcoming. The themed weekends are fantastic and there's always something to do, whether you're there for a day, or are a seasonal camper. The DJs are talented and know how to keep a room moving. I couldn't recommend this place more.

This place is amazing.. the second you are on the property it feels like home, everyone always greets you with a smile and makes sure you have a great time! I was a member last summer and was up there almost every week, I attended the fitness class Frank was doing and it was AWESOME!! I was up there a couple times after as well and stayed a weekend, I will always talk highly of this place, where it feels like home. I have always recommended and will continue. Much love to all the staff for making it a safe place, a home away from home ❤️

We’ve had a great experience working with Camp OUT Poconos while hosting WLW events. The staff has always been easy to work with, organized, and welcoming to our guests. Everyone who attended had a great time and there was always plenty to do with all the activities on their itinerary. Having a food truck on site was also a huge plus. Overall, it’s been a really positive partnership and we appreciate all the effort they put into creating a fun experience.

Unfortunately, tonight was one of the most humiliating and uncomfortable nights of my life. For the first time, I decided to try Camp Out Poconos. I was nervous going into it because everyone knows the tension between my workplace, Rainbow Mountain, and Camp Out has not been great over the past few years. However, I honestly believed things had settled down recently and that maybe people were moving forward. When I arrived, I was greeted kindly by someone at the front desk who began taking my information and ID. While I was in the middle of checking in, another individual entered with a gun visibly on his hip and asked me to step outside. Confused, I complied immediately, leaving my personal information open on the iPad I had been filling out. Once outside, I was told I was “not welcome” there and that I was banned. This completely shocked me because I had never even been there before. A few months ago, one of the owners, Steve, had actually invited me to come check the place out. When I asked why I was banned, I was told, “You know why,” even though I genuinely did not. At that point, another individual aggressively pulled up in a golf cart. The man speaking to me went over to him and said, “Everything’s being taken care of, relax, you don’t need to say anything.” That moment made me feel extremely unsafe and intimidated. I honestly felt like I was about to be attacked. The fear and anxiety became overwhelming, and I begged the person who brought me there — who is actually a full-time member there — to take me home immediately. He tried asking questions as well, but nobody would provide any answers. What makes this even harder to understand is that Rainbow Mountain — my workplace, not me personally — has always welcomed people from Camp Out, including owners and members. I would never treat another member of the LGBTQ community the way I was treated tonight. I understand businesses may have disagreements, but there was absolutely no reason to handle this situation the way they did, especially considering I had never even been there before. The only conclusion I can come to is that I was judged simply because of where I work or because of assumptions made about my character. That is not what our community is supposed to stand for. The LGBTQ community is supposed to be about inclusion, respect, and making people feel safe — not intimidated, isolated, or humiliated. What hurts even more is that one of the individuals who acted aggressively toward me has visited Rainbow Mountain before, and I never once made him feel unwelcome. Thankfully, I’ve visited other campgrounds and LGBTQ spaces that have been incredibly welcoming and respectful. But this experience is something I will never forget. The panic attack and anxiety this situation caused me were very real, and I truly hope nobody else ever has to experience something like this.

These are the friendliest people on Earth. Camp Out is a safe place for all people to come and make memories. I first came in 2024 and have loved it since. The staff are amazing, the events are a blast, and you gotta love that pool and hot tub! I'm a local so they accommodate me with day passes, but I will camp this year as well.

Just had our first camping experience at Camp Out Poconos for home coming weekend. I gotta say, it was a wonderful experience minus some icky weather. Upon check in we were greeted with a smile warmth and professionalism. The office / store was nicely set up clean and welcoming. We had a convenient site f20 to accommodate our large camper with full hook up. We couldn't believe how big this place is. There are some beautiful sites throughout the property by seasonal campers. The pool while closed looked nice and the new addition of the food stand/ truck they will be adding surely will be a hit. We saw the amazing drag show saturday night, and enjoyed the Dj and drinks. We gathered around the fire and met a few wonderful people. We weren't sure how our visit would go since my husband and I never been to a gay campground and we are somewhat shy. The staff was so welcoming and friendly, thank you Brian for being so attentive and helpful, thank you to everyone that simply waived or said hi you made our experience a wonderful one and we can't wait to get back.
