Wanted to love this Inn but sadly it fell short in a most areas that count. Charming building and concept, obviously very appealing as a curiosity and heritage site, but in reality not as cozy and inviting as one looks for in at an Inn. Owners rigid and inflexible, food options extremely limited (disclosed on site but for an Inn must absolutely be improved), rooms small and uncomfortable and policies rather stern. If you're looking for a friendly, homey experience, look elsewhere. Would not recommend as a stay, but as a driveby while in town while lodging somewhere else. (Using pseudonym to post review. That is why they cannot find my name in the records...I did contact the Inn during and after my stay, and was told there was nothing they could do.)
What an exquisite find! My husband planned a long weekend away and discovered the Schoolhouse Inn online. With only 15 rooms, this historic school is cleverly decorated and quiet comfortable. Rooms are clean and the staff is super friendly. Downtown Fernadina is now charging for parking. The inn is only a 5-10 minute walk to shops and restaurants.
Unique stay! Very accommodating! Quiet & comfortable. Great stay!
We stayed here for 3 nights and were very comfortable. The decor was nice but not overloaded which I like. The bed was comfortable and the hotel very clean. We took advantage of the pool everyday. We liked that it was on the edge of the main district so we could walk to everything but we were not surrounded by people everywhere. We had a room upstairs and never heard the bar or musicians, so it was very quiet to us.
This is the cutest little boutique hotel in this great beach town! So close to restaurants and shopping and the Principal's office is so fun! I would highly recommend this place in Amelia Island! 😁🏝️💖
The Amelia Schoolhouse Inn was great except for the bed. We stayed in the Classic Queen Room 5. Enjoyed the room immensely, the air conditioning was nice and cold. It was extremely nice to have an overhead fan. The schoolhouse was nicely decorated inside and out. I do wish there were a door separating the Bar area from the hallway rooms where we were staying. It was nice not to have to fight for a parking spot for the Shrimp Festival. The only issue we had with the room was the bed; it was way too soft. My wife and I did not sleep much at all, so we got up at 730 and headed home to get some rest.
