Hollywood Gateway Inn

The service at this hotel needs to be repaired. The front desk manager lacks customer service skills. I've made complaints and she doesn't come to any resolve. She makes it an if I'm the problem when I'm a guest staying at the hotel. When you don't know how to accommodate your guest and treat them well , you don't need to be a hotel manager. She needs some hospitality skills. The housekeeper enters the room when you aren't there. There is a lack of privacy at this hotel. Otherwise this is a beautiful hotel with great amenities. The customer service just needs some attention

Little difficult to find, no hotel sign on Polk. Room was acceptable, Breakfast disappointing, toast, donuts and cereal. Went there at 8:50, breakfast was closed. Pool nice but few chairs. Undergoing renovations, but never saw anyone working during the 4 days we were there. Some plaster slapped roughly on cracks, that was all. Got deposit back easily. For the price, I would stay there again.] Went back again Jan. 14 - 10, Renovations complete place looks like new, Nice room very clean with patio doors, Staff was excellent especially Michelle. Breakfast was still skimpy, Price was great, Overall. a very pleasant stay,

Not the worst hotel I've stayed in, but definitely near the bottom. Overall property does not match pictures. Grounds give off a "you're in a dump" vibe. Room is small and worn down, but surprisingly clean. Bed is very uncomfortable, like sleeping on concrete. Hallways all had strong odor of weed. Location is loud. Heard bad bumping car stereos at 2 am. No way would this be a repeat stay. Front desk clerk was nice though, so at least one positive.

If it was possible to give them a -1000 review, I would. You’ll leave this place with bad memories, nightmares and possibly some roaches. Anyone who gives a 5/5 rating is either lying or has extremely low sanitary standards. The hotel is INFESTED with cockroaches. I repeat , INFESTED. We planned this trip way ahead in advance based on the reviews, and had a stay from January 6- January 10. Upon check-in, we requested a 1st floor room due to my disabled in-laws who cannot go up the stairs. The room (112) was less than ideal but we decided to stay. On January 7, we found a small roach in our bathroom. I have a phobia of insects especially cockroaches so we reported the issue to the morning shift staff, she claimed she wasn’t aware of this and said she would have housekeepers clean the room. Later that night when we returned to the room, the room was not cleaned as promised. We went to the front desk and spoke with the nightshift staff and requested a new room on the 2nd floor hoping that would resolve the issue. She didn’t not care enough to acknowledge the issue and gave me a new card to room 206. On our way to the room, there was another roach in the stairs and one on the wall, but we decided to let it go as it was not near the room. On January 8, I went to the desk and saw the same morning shift staff from the previous day. I explained to her that no one cleaned room 112 and there were roaches in the stairs on the way to room 206. She again denied having any knowledge of the infestation when I had reported it to her the day before. On the question of why the room wasn’t cleaned after the roach report, she responded with “oh! I wrote it on a slip and threw it away by mistake.” Excuse me! Threw it away? She then told housekeeping to clean room 206 just in case, which they did. On January 8, upon my return at night, I was greeted by 2 massive roaches on the ceiling. I went down to the front desk and informed the evening staff about the roaches and showed her the video (attached). She too claimed she didn’t have any knowledge of the infestation. How is that even possible? I came across 4 roaches in a matter of 2 days and she doesn’t have knowledge? BS. At this point, I’d had enough and decided to check out and go to a different place. However, looking at the prices it wouldn’t have been affordable so I asked that they give me a full refund due to the inconvenience and me being forced to book a new hotel at last minute and prices being very high. I contacted Capital One as that is where I’d booked the hotel. I explained the entire situation to despite their repeated attempts via phone and email, the hotel staff refused to communicate with Capital One after the initial conversation, and I was forced to stay at the hotel as they refused to give me a refund to go to a different hotel. The nightshift staff was extremely unprofessional and rude. I overheard her saying that there would be no chargeback and it was on me to either stay or leave. This type of behavior towards guests is not only unacceptable but also shows how much the establishment cares for the guests. I’m extremely disappointed in the service and will NEVER recommend it to anyone.

I'm still buzzing from our amazing stay at Hollywood Gateway Inn! 😊 Michelle, you're a gem! Her warm smile and genuine hospitality made us feel right at home. The room was a cozy, perfect for our family, and the location was absolute perfection - couldn't ask for better access to the port. And let's not forget the breakfast - it was lovely 😋. Our experience was truly great, and we'll be back if we come to this area. If you're looking for a place that feels like home, make sure to ask for Michelle!

Found the Room was clean and nice enough for the price ...no roaches that I saw ..they also have a continental breakfast for free…had a nice experience overall..just know you need to put a large security deposit ( but refundable) along with price ..only problem was the porch light was automatic and you cannot turn it on or off

It's nice and comfortable,great service from across the board. Must respect and peace here at HOLLYWOOD GATE WAY INN. I ALWAYS FEEL PROTECTED DUE TO NO ONE CAN INTER ANY BUILDING WITHOUT A DOOR KEY CARD.

Bed was super clean and fresh. Room didn't have a smell like most old motels and was clean. Room had fridge microwave and patio. Outside some old furniture and bad painting its a good choice for the money. Staff is super friendly and they offer a small breakfast that has coffee, juice, couple cerals and bread.

The place is nice, a little updated but it suits as an Inn. Great staff and kind Clean
