At first I thought this was a safe space for qtpoc folks. I was surely wrong. During coivd19, the majority of the staff were white cis, and many not even gay. One night I had a mental breakdown, I was brought into one of the directors office, and she threatened to call the police on a young bipoc person for expressing their pain. I thought I can explore my pgps and preferred name, and I was accused of falsifying my identity and eventually banned. Extremely hostile towards trans people of color.
Honestly, by the looks of this place, it's awful. The staff were rude, and there was an American flag inside. America is so toxic towards trans people, and everyone there called me by my deadname, even when I asked them not to.
Their dedication to inclusivity, education, and advocacy is truly inspiring. The staff is kind, the resources are valuable, and the sense of community is uplifting.
I recently visited the Pride Center and Sherwin was able to help me out. Sherwin was extremely helpful and professional, providing me with all the information I needed and answering my questions with patience. The entire experience was positive and supportive, thanks to Sherwin's assistance. Highly recommend!
The staff is so fake and disingenuous, double-standards are common place, cliques are formed depending on who the staff favors. They are hurting for members and they wonder why. Fire Hailey, Gina and Nichole and get people who actually care about members welfare.
