The Norwich Inn

Dave the innkeeper and his staff are excellent. Warm greetings upon arrival, love the text message asking if we needed anything, and comp shuttle for a drop off downtown was so convenient! We had dinner one night at the inn, excellent!! Thanks for a great getaway.

This place failed miserably as an upscale historic property. The room design and layout were good but the carpet was disgusting - dirty and stained. We were paying $500 with taxes and this room should not have been rented. Additionally, nice properties today have moved away from bespreads and blankets that get laundered at best a few times a year. Nice hotels today have top sheeting or duvets and duvet covers that are laundered at each turn. Service was very unprofessional in the hotel as well as the dining room. The server was leaning on the back of a chair as he took our order, the desk agent was eating her breakfast as we checked out. She made no attempt to inquire about our stay and was only interested in getting back to breakfast. Breakfast buffet was very poor. Tables weren't set with napkins and cutlery. We were served our first cup of coffee and then had to fend for ourselves the next two time. Food was good but buffet presentation was not at all professional. Training standards are very low in this hotel. Decor is awful and it is too bad as it is such a nice historic property with so much potential.

I am waiting for a resolution of a reservation issue before I write my review. If all goes well and the issue is fairly resolved then my respect for the Norwich Inn, VT will remain intact and my review will reflect that. If my issue continues to not be resolved satisfactorily then I will provide details, including dates, and employee quoted communications with employee names. Including employees twisting my exact conversation to reflect negativity on my character. (which will not reflect positively on the image of the Norwich Inn, VT) In my attempt to be fair, I will remain positive and calm throughout this process, with full respect for the integrity of the Norwich Inn and the Lavin family and Dave Burtonbush, Innkeeper, and his partner Josh Burtonbush manager.

We stayed here for a night and then visited a local attraction. Although the price was high, the hotel was excellent. Better than your typical top tier chains like Hyatt, Marriott, etc. This was very comfortable and secure. Would stay again for the right price. Very nice general store right next door which had everything including hot breakfast sandwiches. Breakfast is not included.

Awesome quaint little B&B in a bucolic VT town. We stay here every year the night before we pick up our kids from sleepaway camp in the summer. Friendly staff, clean rooms and great food. Highly recommend, good value for the rate. But note it is an old building, no elevators or fridges in rooms

I was in town for a baking course at King Arthur. This inn was the perfect location for my home base during the week. The room was fabulous with a gas fireplace that I took advantage of most nights. Being from Texas it was nice to take a bit of the spring chill off my bones. I enjoyed the bar a couples of nights and took advantage of the breakfast a couple of mornings as well. The staff is very accommodating for the folks taking classes, they're willing to store the output from the class in their fridges/freezers. The staff was quite helpful in getting me oriented about the town and pointing out restaurants that were open when the inn's wasn't.

A quaint inn that's perfectly colonial. Clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you're planning on taking a class at the King Arthur Baking school, which is less than a 5 minute drive, it's the perfect place to stay.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Inn. The Assistant Manager, Mia, offered some of the best hospitality service I have ever encountered. I will definitely be coming to stay again!

Our company had the pleasure of hosting our Christmas party this past weekend at the Norwich Inn. Linda and the team was exceptionally attentive to our needs both in the initial planning stages and during the event. The reserved spaces were gorgeous, providing ample room for our large group to socialize before our meal. The food was exceptional; beautifully prepared and presented, as well as the inn's signature cocktails and mocktails. Following dinner, we held a gift exchange in the living room; the fireplace and the Christmas tree created the perfect cozy setting. We had a truly wonderful time celebrating a great business year, and the Norwich Inn was a fabulous host.
