Pride in Progress (Utah Valley Pride)

Pride in Progress is Utah Valley's annual Pride celebration, held each April in Provo just south of Orem. Organized by the Cougar Pride Center, it has grown into the region's flagship queer event since its founding, drawing over a thousand people in a part of Utah where public Pride was once almost unthinkable. The day typically opens with a march from the historic Utah County Courthouse and gathers at Provo's Veterans Memorial Park for a free festival of vendors, performances, community booths, and speakers.

For LGBTQ+ residents and visitors around Orem and Provo, Pride in Progress is the biggest and most visible expression of local queer community, and the event to plan a spring visit around. It is free to attend; RSVP and current-year details are shared each year by the organizers. (An older, separate September "Provo Pride" ran in past years but is no longer the active festival.)
