Surf & Sand Hotel Pensacola Beach, FL

Rooms very outdated. Restroom door almost hitting the toilet when open and closed. Thats just how tight the space is. Floor was very dirty, bed sheets had stains on them. Only good thing is the location of it.

Great location. Staff was rude . Not only to me but the people checking in next to me . Bathroom had mold on the containers that hold the shampoo and conditioner.

First I would like to thank Amanda in the front office, for a remarkable, wonderful 18 year wedding anniversary. She made sure we had a great view right out our door of the top floor. She also gave us suggestions on where to eat and transportation if we did not want to drive. She was an rockstar! Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The view was awesome from the balcony outside our room, Of little Sabine, the pool and beach. Everything is literally all around the hotel. Breakfast, was that a real breakfast, eggs, sausage, biscuits, waffles, cereal, toast fresh fruit & coffee and juice it was so good! Ashley at the front desk the next morning with her inviting smile and kindness was very knowledgeable about anything I asked. The little eating area and lobby are so cute. We loved everything about this hotel. We definitely will be back!

Surf and Sand Hotel: We had a mixed experience during our 5-day stay. Elizabet, who was there every morning at breakfast except for our last day (May 26), was absolutely amazing. She always greeted us warmly, checked on us, asked if we needed anything, and genuinely made us feel welcome. She was one of the highlights of our stay and truly provided excellent customer service. On the other hand, the older lady with glasses at the front desk was not very friendly. Whenever we asked about using the bikes or paddle boards, she would give us unpleasant looks and made us feel like we were asking stupid questions. We felt judged and uncomfortable interacting with her, which was disappointing. When you're paying for a 5-day stay at a hotel that isn’t cheap, you expect to feel welcomed and comfortable asking questions about amenities that are included with your stay. Overall, Elizabet made a wonderful impression, but the front desk experience took away from what could have been a much better stay.

We love this hotel! The staff are always so friendly and accommodating, the breakfast is always so good in the morning. Getting to rent kayaks, paddle boards and bikes are great and my favorite is to sit on the sand by the fire pit at sunset! Just across the street from the beach, and plenty of restaurants.

This location and price hits the perfect mark for a stay in pensacola beach. The question that arises for me strictly is who allowing the current managers to manage this establishment. Every worker I ran into here was in a terrible mood and the amenities were all missing a component. The toilet was malfunctioning and made a loud noise all night. The tv did not have a remote to operate. While walking around the building and running into workers, everyone of them seemed to be in some form of distress.

Everything was perfect here. Especially the staff. There is a hot breakfast every morning plus fruit and coffee all day long. They have a private beach in back that has access to the Bayside and if you go across the street, you will be at Pensacola Beach on the Oceanside. They also have bikes, paddle boards, etc. to use. And there are golf carts that can take you around the neighborhood. The price was very good for the area too. It’s a great place to stay highly recommend it.

The location was very good but it is very old and not clean! There were mold that is understandable since it’s very humid. It’s relatively overpriced for its quality

Definitely a mixture of great pros but some cons. Pros - can’t ask for a better location! Central to everything touristy and easily walkable - free rental bikes and kayaks were awesome - the pool/grill/firepit area is really cool - the complimentary breakfast was pretty solid with your usually options but the lady that worked the breakfast everything was the sweetest person we encountered our whole trip! Special shout out to her! - the grounds were really well maintained and felt safe Cons - the room itself had some areas of poor drywall repair, water damaged paint, somewhat of a musty smell, mold on all the shower bottle dispensers and very weak water pressure - not sure how standard this is in the industry, but housekeeping needs to be requested by 8am only on the day of for cleaning? With that being said, our room never was cleaned during our stay, despite one day trying to request at 8:15. Understand it is a rule, and just waking up before 8am, but a persistent inconvenience for those trying to sleep in/don’t want to worry about requesting something that is standard service. Without a doubt the location itself will have us coming back for years to come, however, in the future we will consider somewhere else in the area for a possible better value for a little extra cost.
