Hilton Garden Inn Toledo/Perrysburg

We chose this hotel because it was hosting a wedding we were attending, and we specifically booked adjoining rooms since we were traveling with our baby. Unfortunately, our experience started off on the wrong foot and never recovered. Check-in was scheduled for 4:00 PM, and the wedding reception began at 5:00 PM in the same hotel. As any parent can understand, I needed time to get settled, set up a pack-and-play for my baby, and get myself ready for the event. When we arrived at check-in time, neither of our rooms was ready. While I understand that delays can happen, what was most disappointing was the staff’s response. Rather than showing any sense of urgency or empathy, they seemed annoyed by my frustration. No meaningful effort was made to expedite the cleaning of our rooms, despite the fact that we had a very time-sensitive event to attend in the same building. We were not given access to our rooms until 5:00 PM—an hour after the promised check-in time and exactly when the reception began. As a result, we arrived approximately 30 minutes late to the wedding reception. To make matters worse, the hotel offered to comp two bottles of water for the inconvenience, which we later discovered had been charged to our room anyway. The delayed room was frustrating, but the lack of customer service and compassion was what truly stood out. Seeing a stressed parent simply trying to access a room at the standard, guaranteed check-in time should have been met with understanding and a genuine effort to help. Instead, we were made to feel like an inconvenience. Unfortunately, this experience made it clear that we chose the wrong place to stay. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this hotel to others.

The lobby could used some attention. Rooms are getting a bit tired. Broken toilet seat; cracked and loose. The location is tough to beat in this area. Lots to walk to.

Nice place great staff

This hotel is not what it once was and does not reflect the standards I expect from a Hilton property. The room was noticeably worn, from the quilts and furniture to the walls and overall condition. There’s also a bar (part of the bed frame?) hanging out from the bottom of the bed-someone will definitely get hurt. I brought several issues to Josh's attention so they wouldn't be attributed to us at checkout, and he acknowledged that the property is outdated and in need of renovation. The only benefit of this hotel is its location. Overall, I was very disappointed with the condition and upkeep of the hotel and do not plan to stay here again in the future.
