The atmosphere and vibe is so good...With all the sushi to choose from it's hard to pick. Highly recommend any of the sushi!

One of the worst and most disappointing Japanese meals I have ever had. I arranged for a private driver to collect this order in Philadelphia and deliver it to King of Prussia. Between the food and the round-trip transportation, I spent approximately $400 on this absolute garbage. I literally felt robbed. Considering Morimoto’s reputation and premium prices, I expected exceptional quality and professional takeout packaging. What I received was appalling. The photos speak for themselves. The sushi looked carelessly assembled and poorly packed, with uneven cuts, loose rice, dull-looking fish, crushed rolls, and hand rolls that arrived open and falling apart. This is not acceptable presentation from a supposedly high-end restaurant. The miso soup was the worst I have ever tasted. It resembled warm salt water or hospital broth—bland, watery, and completely lacking the depth and flavor of proper miso soup. The sushi was terrible, the tempura was equally disappointing, and there was not a single item I enjoyed. The order also arrived without chopsticks, soy sauce, or wasabi. How does a famous Japanese restaurant send out sushi without the most basic accompaniments? Even placing the order was unnecessarily frustrating. The restaurant’s ordering website is confusing, poorly designed, and embarrassingly difficult to navigate. The menu descriptions were so unclear that ordering felt like guessing. For a restaurant charging premium prices, the online experience felt amateurish and completely inconsistent with the image it promotes. This was not simply underwhelming—it was unacceptable. I spent around $400 on a meal that was bland, carelessly presented, incomplete, and practically inedible. I genuinely felt robbed after paying that much for food of such shockingly poor quality. Morimoto’s famous name created expectations that the restaurant failed to meet at every stage: website, packaging, presentation, flavor, and basic order preparation. An absolute waste of money and effort. I would never order from Morimoto Philadelphia again.

They need to remove the chicken poussin off the menu. It’s a very plain dish even though it’s soy glazed, just disappointing given how much they charged for the dish. Besides that one plate I loved all the food and drinks there. The South Pacific mocktail is absolutely amazing! My partner ordered the black garlic prawns and that dish was so rich in flavor that I was using its base to mix in with my chicken.

Food is underwhelming for the price paid. Definitely was expecting more but left unimpressed.

TLDR: Redeemed by the service but completely let down by the food. Came for starr restaurant week tasting menu. Environment: Walking in you can imagine the wow factor this must have had in its opening days, and it still stands out, but the age is beginning to show in its multicolored glass booths and chairs straight out an early 2000's music video. Overall still an impressive dining space with beautiful ceiling and wall paneling. Service: Staffing is plentiful, attentive and professional. Our server was EXCELLENT and easily the highlight of the whole experience. She was exactly as present as you would hope to be, never were left desiring anything, nor felt like you were being hovered on the whole meal. Pacing of the food was great, tables promptly cleared, serveware reset. Very professional 9/10. The food: SOOO dated and completely missing the mark for the cost. We each ordered the tasting menu for restaurant week ordering a variety of all of the offerings. My first course was the tempura rock shrimp and probably the weakest of the whole meal. The sauce completely eliminated any crisp from the tempura and overall tasted like something you could get from a frozen trader joes meal. A simple sweet sauce of gojuchang lacking heat or complexity and made the dish soggy to where I would have expected something similar from a PF Changs happy hour starter. Next up was the sushi course consisting of 4 pieces. Salmon, tuna, snapper and shrimp. Totally fine but also completely unmemorable. Interesting choice to serve such standard options when only serving 4 pieces. No character at all shown in this course. Finally I upgraded to the A5 wagyu for an extra $45 and this course was actually an insult. 4 of the tiniest strips of steak I've ever seen offered as a main course paired with 3 equally puny mushrooms and a pickled onion? The quality of the meat was good as expected, and cooked well enough, but when I tell you this was small, it was SMALL. Keep in mind this is the final course and up until this point I've had about 4 shrimp, 4 pieces of sushi and about 2 oz of meat (current spend $120). The other guests in the party had a the miso cod as their main, which was cooked well, but SOOO sweet. Shockingly sweet, this definitely wasn't tasted before it was sent. The fish was delicate and overwhelmed by glaze as if you squeezed a bottle of honey on a simple whitefish. The pork belly porridge was easily the best tasting dish at the table, served as the second course to my friends. The pork belly was well cooked, though the sauce was overly salty considering the porridge was also so generously salted. I get it, it's a rich cut and it needs salt, but a bit too much. However I guess I would prefer over salted to under salted. Finally the desert, which was a choice of either what tasted like store bought frozen mochi ice cream or ginger pana cotta. The pana cotta was good, not too sweet, but overall nothing too standout either. I would've preferred a nice acidic fruit marmalade too the overly sweet honeycomb crisp it was served with. Final total for 4 with 1 beer, 1 NA drink and 1 sake $540. A complete joke for the value. Fortunately we weren't too hungry so the few bites we had were enough. It would have been nice to see some character from the chef shine through but overall this felt completely dated and very "corporate". If you value a good IG photo and aren't an experienced diner this might be a great meal for you. If you have any ability to appreciate and articulate flavor or creativity in your food this will leave you so disappointed. Overall this will be a great memory for me and my friends as we laugh about the the insulting portions and comically underwhelming courses. Props to our server, though if I was her I would find a BOH that matches your skill level.

Service was decent - it felt like our waiter was rushed, but she did offer us a sample of the sake before buying which we really appreciated! Food was also decent - I got the wagyu udon and a roll of spicy yellowtail, but unfortunately it gave me the runs the entire weekend. Maybe I just got unlucky, but I’d expect if I’m spending as much as I did that it wouldn’t give me a stomach bug!
