The Fireside Restaurant
Visitors frequently praise the great service, outstanding atmosphere, and magnificent views. However, some find the menu limited and the prices expensive, with one reviewer noting that a $20 pizza was not worth the cost.

We have never been disappointed at the Fireside Restaurant. The overall score should be 4.7 and the food as well.
Great view, Great service,
What happened to this place?? I first came here 15 years ago for a special occasion, and the experience was amazing. I returned a couple of weekends ago, and it was seriously underwhelming... it barely felt like the same establishment. All the foundational elements of greatness are still there, but the attention to detail and focus on excellence have left the building. While there were no fewer than six front-of-house staff running around, they weren't communicating. It wasn't a team; it was a half-dozen disparate, harried individuals grinding through a shift. They were impeccably dressed and clearly had the capacity for great service, but they lacked leadership and direction. A bad night due to staff call-outs? Maybe, but the breakdown didn't stop there. It was the death by a thousand cuts: insect-eaten, wilting potted plants; poor floor division that had servers tripping over each other in bottlenecks; dirty silverware; and sloppy table settings. Never mind the high expectations of this price point: they don't even bring complimentary fresh bread to the table anymore. You have to order it, which feels incredibly cheap and tacky. The main courses were another major letdown. The pork loin was practically pork jerky, and the mashed potatoes were more mineral than vegetable (could I get a little potato with my salt, please?). While the bartender seemed to know his craft and the cocktails were decent, our glasses sat empty waiting for prompted refills - alongside equally empty water glasses - well beyond reason. Overall, it felt like amateur hour at a restaurant that had died but failed to notice. It no longer feels like a thriving resort centerpiece, but rather a retirement community cafeteria that makes a killing on Bingo night with the blue-plate special.
Nice place to go for happy hour 4pm-6pm, sit inside or out right on the water. Great well thought out menu with something for everyone. Don’t skip on dessert here! Accommodating to allergies. Kids menu along with booster seats or high chairs are available. Accessible dining room and restrooms.
Our very large group showed up on a holiday to enjoy happy hour. They had limited staffing that day and we worried about overwhelming the bar/kitchen/servers. We were prepared to be seated at the various small tables but staff instead hustled to prepare a large table for us in a previously closed-off section. Everyone truly went above & beyond expectations. Drinks & food were great and the service provided by Gabriel was outstanding! Thank you so much for putting up with us - we appreciate the effort and look forward to our next visit! The HH menu had good variety including GF options. Recommend ordering the bread basket for dipping if you get the clams. You won't want to leave any of that delicious broth behind.
