Hôtel Citizen

The hotel is very nice but the staff provides poor service. We had a reservation that stated our room was available at 3pm. We arrived at3:30pm and were told they gave an extended checkout to the party in that room until 4pm. We did not get into the room until 5pm. They offered drink cards worth $20 as an appeasement. I asked for a credit to my room charges but still have not seen them. They said they would email me the bill and still have not received it two days later. Marriott should be concerned about this lack of service. I have always used Marriott for hotels but now I will look at other brands

Excellent location and really feels like a luxury hotel…until you see the bathroom. 😭 Shows really well in photos but the water pressure was crazy high, like splashing everywhere in the shower and the tile is how shall we say…ooky. 😶 Would love to see the bathrooms get some love because this spot is otherwise the best, most chic, nicely-located hotel for walking around and checking places out. The lobby is so crazy - I want to look around more but it’s weird cuz the desk is there lol. It’s so cool though, if you stay take a moment to take in the lobby and elevator bank. Truly vintage cool stuff.

I love this place for work meetings in Sacramento. It’s clean all the people are friendly. It seems to be right in the middle the restaurant and bar are great

Beautifully placed right in the heart of Sacramento next to the capital buildings. Rooms were clean and comfortable, one of the biggest bathrooms to room ratio. Staff was very kind and accommodating. Valet parking is less of an option and more of a must with how packed the streets of Sacramento. My biggest shout out is to the valet staff and bar team for making our stay so relaxing and welcoming

Lacking basic amenities for a 4-star hotel (no conditioner), rooms are outdated and not fully clean, and the fan / ac doesn't seem to work. We tried calling for service, but they were unresponsive unless we went down to the front desk multiple times. Unfortunately they didn't seem to want to help at all, which soured our special occasion trip.

I loved my stay here, but Marriot has an absolutely terrible customer experience. Paying this much money for a hotel room and being forced to talk to AI bots instead of a real human is insulting. If The Citizen Hotel ditched Marriot it would be so much better.

Great attention to detail. Nice friendly staff. Valet parking a must. Standard rooms don’t have a great view but the rooms are spacious. Nice touch with champagne at check in. Excellent restaurant attached to the hotel. Concert in the park happens right across the street. Park the car and lots to see and do nearby. Forgot to take pics!

I can’t believe they kept our 100$ deposit they had told us that we got it sent back and that if we don’t get it back it’s our banks fault ? We called our bank and they informed us that no transactions where ever sent very unprofessional nice hotel but what was that all about I’m never booking here again
