I lived in San Diego when Betty's opened and even though I've sadly moved on, it's still my favorite restaurant. You can tell the quality of the operation when you consider that so staff members have been there for many, many years, some from its opening. It's a five hour round trip motorcycle ride for me but it's well worth the effort.

I had such a fantastic experience at this spot on University Avenue. The atmosphere is so welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered was perfect, but the queso dip with the crispy chips was a total highlight. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful and the portions were great. I cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Super fun place. Food is great, service is great. Great place for large groups but I would definitely call ahead. Don't drop a 16 person group on a random Tuesday happy hour and expect great service. That's on you. Call them ahead so they can plan. Totally love this place and it's amazing energy.
