The Eden
Visitors consistently praise the hotel's excellent staff, fantastic location near the pier, and comfortable, well-decorated rooms. However, a significant complaint revolves around deceptive pricing due to a hidden $50 nightly service charge, which some guests felt was misleading and unethical.

The entire staff was AMAZING!!! Great amenities (pool, spa, outdoor games such as ping pong & cornhole, outdoor bar & wood fire pizza oven, cafe on site, gym, plenty of outdoor & indoor seating, etc), welcoming atmosphere, helpful & friendly staff, wonderful ambiance & good vibes all around. The interior & exterior of the property was pristine. Our visit exceeded my expectations. Everyone we encountered from valet, check-in counter, cafe, housekeeping, pool bar, groundskeeper ALL had wonderful customer service & seemed to truly want to provide a great experience from start to finish. The food was delicious… especially the turkey pesto sandwich, crepes & specialty coffees. The location was ideal!!! Right across the street from the beach with easy accessibility & a short walk to Santa Monica Pier. There was shopping nearby & plenty of restaurants to choose from. I especially liked that there were only 2 chain restaurants (Raising Canes & Starbucks) & the rest were local spots with great ambiance (I always prefer local businesses for a new experience). The location was in a safe neighborhood & very clean surroundings. The room & bathroom were larger than I anticipated, and the bed was so comfy. It was a great value & I highly recommend. If I could give our stay 10 stars, I would!
I only visited the Coffee (i ordered a caramel macchiato) on the main floor and it was de-li-cious! The atmosphère was super Nice, with some sun rays coming through the windows, beautiful chilling áreas and very kind service :) Definitely a must try :)
Excellent lodging option in Santa Monica. It's located on the waterfront, about 300 meters from the historic pier. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated. It has everything you need for a good night's sleep. There's a pool and valet parking. The staff is fantastic, always attentive to your needs. Free use of bicycles is ideal for a ride to Venice Beach. It also has a lovely rooftop terrace.
One of the best, if not the best hotel, I've stayed at in a long time. Staff was excellent. They were responsive and knowledgeable about the area. We were enthusiastically greeted and they did a great job making my anniversary feel special. We even had a hand written card in our room and when we arrived were wished a happy anniversary. The rooms are old, but I'm a charming way. They have a vintage look and feel without feeling worn or run down. The bathtub was gigantic and deep, and the view of the ocean was absolutely stunning, especially at night when the pier is lit up. I also highly recommend checking out the pool area. It's got a bunch of places to just relax and enjoy the evening. The valet was a little pricey, but the service was impeccable. They were quick and friendly. The only complaints I have, and they're not necessarily the fault of the hotel, is that the road can be loud sometimes, and the water pressure can be a bit low, but honestly neither of these would stop me from staying here again. Amazing place to stay.
Beautiful hotel with amazing service
While not the first thought of a kid friendly hotel, the website said it was family friendly and we wanted to stay for the buildings history and beautiful architecture. We were not let down, the staff was very friendly and inviting of our lively bunch, we raise wildly independent mountain kids. The rooms were spectacular and spacious, more than we expected. The open windows to the coast with a fresh ocean breeze were just what we needed to relax and recooperate on our business/leisure trip. The pool area was fantastic and drinks were available at the rooftop bar which was very chic and had a nice selection. We made use of the coffee bar in the lobby as well and a few shots of espresso is always nice to start the day. The location is everything here, perfect distance to reach all the spots by foot. Every single staff member was kind and courteous, I usually like to highlight those that stand out, but every staff member we interacted with was topnotch, thank you, each and every one! All prices and fees were well discussed before being charged, there were no surprises on the bill.
We had an excellent stay at the Eden Hotel in Santa Monica and would return without hesitation. From start to finish, the communication before, during, and even after our stay was outstanding. The front desk team was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating - exactly what you hope for after a long travel day. The location is fantastic. We loved being able to use the hotel bikes to ride down to Venice Beach, and the proximity to the pier and ocean made everything easy and enjoyable. One of the best parts of the hotel is its vintage retro vibe and respect for the building’s heritage. It feels stylish and unique without trying too hard - a refreshing change from generic chain hotels. The rooftop lounge was another highlight. Great food, a glass of wine, and watching the sunset over the beach and pier was the perfect way to end the evening. The beds were extremely comfortable, and even the in-room details stood out - high-quality lotion, soap, and amenities that actually felt luxurious. If I could give this hotel 6 stars, I would. Highly, highly recommended.
