If you read the AI summary of this place, it says that some reviews state the unprofessional behavior of the staff of this bar as the main reason why it receives these negative reviews. And if you read through those negative reviews, you indeed get a detailed and repeated breakdown of how rude the people are that work at this bar. Time and time again, it’s noted how unprofessional, disrespectful, and outright mean the people who work at this bar can be to patrons, seemingly for no reason. Unfortunately, my experience last night was more of the same. I had what I can only describe as an insane interaction with the female bouncer and female and male bartenders. I was walking home and came in for a beer and to watch some karaoke. I was standing at the bar by myself, near the main entrance/exit, watching people sing karaoke, and I was chastised by the staff for “standing in the wrong place.” In a normal situation, if you’re stood in the wrong spot, staff will let you know, suggest other areas to stand, and it’s not a big deal. You move and that’s the end of it. How this situation escalated from 0-100 was actually shocking. Mind you there are no signs, markers, lines, tape, etc. that indicate where it’s okay to stand and not stand. And if there are, at no point were they pointed out to me. Instead of explaining this or just having a conversation about it, I was literally yelled at and berated by the bouncer. At the portion of the bar I was stood, there is a caulked line where two separate sections of bar top come together and meet. I was yelled at for standing in the wrong spot adjacent to this arbitrary, unmarked line. Because of the disrespectful and condescending tone of the bouncer, I asked and stated that, without a clear, well marked divider or something to indicate where one is allowed to stand or not stand, how was I to know if I’m in the wrong place, and why am I being yelled at for this. At first I didn’t even know what I was being yelled at for because the bouncer came out of nowhere, was unclear, and was already at a heightened level of escalation. It literally felt like she was looking for an argument. Just me asking for clarity on what she was even talking about seemed to set her off even more. I also pointed out to them that without a clear marker or divider, how is it okay that if I stand one inch in one direction of that arbitrary caulked line, it’s fine, but if I stand one inch on the other side of that line, I’m “breaking the rules” of the bar (pointing out that either way, you’re essentially standing in the exact same spot). Well, me asking simple, common sense questions absolutely set her and the bartenders off and I was told to leave. It was one of the strangest interactions I’ve ever had with bar staff in my life. I will never return to this place.

Love the place, I go 3-4 times a week. Each day a different vibe and this place has become my second home. I have discovered plenty about my self singing up on stage and the whole staff makes me feel welcome and knows me by name 💗 Bartenders Great! Door People Wonderful and makes sure the bar is safe and people are following the rules! KJs So awesome! Clientele literally where I made most of my friends today and where I take new friends!

Tonight at the crescent lounge, I went up to sing my last song of the night and my mic was cut halfway through my performance. I am a regular at this bar, I sing well, I come for the karaoke. This was rude, unprofessional and the reason I left early. Ken B did a fantastic job during daytime karaoke. however, when Double D took over, suddenly the sound quality tanked, as it tends to when they take over. Nick, Kiki and Izzy were wonderful and also noticed that my mic had been cut halfway through. This is not the first time my mic has been cut mid song while Double D is hosting, however this is the first time my mic was never turned back on. This has solidified that I will not be there on nights where Double D is hosting. This is not an attack on anyone's character, but a critique of unprofessional behavior that has been present for a long time.

I’ve been slowly became a regular at crescent and I must say it is hands down one of my favorite karaoke dive bars. By all means it is not perfect but it doesn’t need to be, it’s got some wabi-sabi. The community and vibes are amazing and the staff are the best. It’s not the cleanest place on earth but it’s also a dive bar so my expectations with that are low. The karaoke is also so fun with a line up of amazing KJs that come with so much energy and hype. My personal faves being Garlic man, Ken B, Keenan and Casey Jones. All of them are so friendly and will do their best to make you sound amazing while singing. Bar staff are also so sweet and are incredibly proactive and work as a team. Also huge shout out to Nick the bartender and Izzy the door person, The frontlines of crecent lounge! I’ve been in a scenario where a fellow patron made me super uncomfortable and Nick jumped in and dealt with the situation immediately. And Izzy is the best! She’s always so kind to me and works so hard to keep everyone safe. I’ve watched her numerous times deal with people who are too drunk to handle themselves or assholes in general. I can agree that sometimes she can be a little intimidating, but from how heinous some people can be, it is so needed for the safety of the space. Izzy is so under appreciated, but I wanted to use this opportunity to openly talk about the hard work she puts in to keep everyone safe.
