Montvale Hotel | Spokane

Really enjoyed our stay at the Montvale Hotel in Spokane. Great location, parked our car and walked everywhere. Down to the waterfront, mall, Centennial Trail. It was nice to have coffee and tea available on the second floor to help ourselves.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Montvale. The atmosphere of the wellkept, historic structure will stay with us for years. The location was ideal for our evening events and having hot water for tea upon our return added to the relaxing experience. The one thing that could have been better, was the state of the mattress we slept on. Other than that, the stay met all of our expectations.

We love the historic charm of this hotel! Keep up the good work.

Wonderful historic hotel in downtown Spokane. Great rates. Easy friendly check-in. $5 Parking right at hotel. Good value.

Have stayed at a few different places downtown, more and less expensive. Nice old building in a great spot. Second floor lounge area is nice but coffee may run low. Favorite place to stay downtown.

Great location. The rooms weren't much to write home about. Clean, but old and needing some fine tuning. I do appreciate the history though. Next time I will bring a shop light to supplement the lack of light in the room. Nearly impossible to see to get ready; especially if the sun has gone down outside. The Gilded Unicorn restaurant near by was awesome. Ruby's Diner for their complimentary breakfast was awesome! The positives definitely out way any negatives about the room itself. The complimentary coffee and creamer at the hotel was appreciated. The beds are better than what they have at the Davenport. BONUS!! ;)

After a long drive from Montana to Spokane, my family and I were looking forward to a comfortable stay for the night. However, upon arriving to our room we immediately started to notice the unclean conditions of our room. There was hair on the countertops, crumbs on the sofa which clearly revealed it hadn’t been vacuumed, toothpaste residue stuck on the sink, stains on the toilet seat which we thought would’ve been the most offensive of all but then we saw that there was hair on the bedding. I immediately called Heaven at the Front Desk in the lobby and told her everything I’ve stated and if someone could come clean it for us. She responds by telling us there’s nothing they could do since housekeeping had all left for the evening. We then grabbed all of our belongings and left the room within minutes alongside my husband and two young kids. When we went to the lobby we saw that Heaven explained our situation to her manager, Zachary Neighbors, over the phone to which we were told they understand and that they would work with us & Expedia to refund us for our dissatisfaction with the lack of cleanliness in our room. Luckily we found another accommodation nearby but had we not, sleeping in our car would’ve been better than staying in that disgusting room. It gets worse. When we followed up with Zachary, he refused the refund but even worse just dismissed our concerns because his housekeeping lead and his front desk lead, Heaven, deemed the room as acceptable. Your front desk lead did not have to sleep in that room, we did, your guests. And if your housekeeping claims that room was fine as is, you should reevaluate your team of housekeeping as well as your front desk lead as their standard of cleanliness and professionalism couldn’t be more skewed. Our biggest mistake other than staying at this hotel was hurrying and leaving in shock and disgust and not taking pictures as we hurried out. Cleanliness is the most basic expectation of staying at a hotel. Equally important is honouring what you say to your guests when problems arise. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

Very cute and great location. Please add curtains. The lights from the sign and the streets were so bright and felt like day time in the middle of the night.

Staff was very helpful and professional. Took care of my extra requests without any issues.
